A few years ago I took over the Gameball Poll when Rosh disappeared. Every once in awhile there is some discussion on how people choose Gameball winner - how I choose who to put in poll, etc.

I have had from one choice to probably 9 choices before. Sometimes I put team/other/Coach K as options.

This year it has been about 4-8 players per game. I have not entered Coach K/other/team as options at all this year.

I always go and check the box score right after the game. Sometimes someone quietly filled out the stat sheet and you do not realize what a big impact they had. Other times someone made a big impression at a certain point but were low on stats.

I like to put in every player that had a good game (by my admittedly subjective measure) for them even though I do not think they should win Gameball Poll. Technically I could probably just limit it to 2-3 players every game. Think of it as being an honorable mention to get listed in the poll. I have delighted in putting many players in the polls this year even though winners were fairly obvious for the most part. We are getting some good play from our starters and some surprising performances from our bench.

Basically I just have fun with the poll - my creation and your response is totally subjective!

I think you do an excellent job selecting the options. If anyone ever disagrees, they can always submit a write-in candidate in their reply.
