With starting 5 who other than Cliff do we expect to rebound (little guys are floating out to the break btw). Never saw a Pike team give up so many O rebounds. Soft it still is. Cliff being able to catch or hold on to a ball would mask some of that, but it would still be there. The construction of this team is just puzzling-as if we would become a run and gun success. Perhaps Cliff was as much of a reason for slowdown as PM--Doesnt matter but seems like square pegs ..and fun size guards.

When the guards box out, as they actually do pretty well, the bigger opponents just go over them, I suspect Pike will be headed back to recruiting big guards.

The issue is Cliff not rebounding moreso than the guards. Hyatt and Oskar led us with 5 apiece.

No - it’s the surrounding cast. Cliff has never been the type of player who on his own takes over games and just dominates. It’s weird to think of it that way (based on his aggregate stats), but if you think about it game by game, most of Cliff’s big games have been when someone else had a stand out game and he quietly becomes the complementary threat on both ends. Even when he’s the high scorer, I’d often look at the box score surprised by how many points he had.

Has anyone shown Simpson where the weight room is yet? He needs to put on some muscle, dont see any improvement from freshman year.

Isnt he roommates with Wolf? Maybe he can throw him over his shoulder and lock him in the weight room.

I give Gavin a pass for this year, first year in the system. Hopefully he's capable of putting on some muscle in the offseason.
