If things are working in the first half we never change. If the same things are not working in 2nd half, for some reason we don't have a plan to adjust on the fly.
Why did they not run the 2nd half like they did the final 40 seconds
I'm right there with you. This is a talented offense with a supposed genius at the head coaching position, but for some reason can't really be effective for an entire game. Far too many games where the offense has spent one half being ineffective given the suppose hype and talent.
Tennessee: 13 point first half
YSU: 21 point first half:
KSU: 14 point second half: Comfortably ahead
TTU: 0 point second half: Desperately needing a score
KU: 17 point second half: Comfortably ahead
ISU: 0 point second half: Desperately needing a score
Baylor: 17 point second half: Comfortably ahead
Texas: 14 point second half: Desperately needing a score
TCU: 21 point second half: Comfortably ahead
OSU: 10 point second half: Desperately needing to score
So in 10 games, WVU has had 4 games where they were able to muster more than 14 in both halves of the game. Of those 6 games where WVU had one half of 2 scores or less, 5 of those were not at times where WVU could be in cruise control due to a comfortable lead or playing a patsy where a slow start is no big deal ala Bama vs the Citadel. 2 were losses, 2 were close wins (one of which would've been lost if the defense hadn't scored), and one where it was the first half before WVU was able to turn it on in the second half.
