"Scott Frost would like you to stop thinking he’s close to agreeing to terms to be Nebraska’s next coach.

Friday, a writer from Bleacher Report with Nebraska ties tweeted that Frost was close to agreeing to terms on a 7-year $35 million contract to be the next coach of the Huskers. Mind you, Nebraska currently has a coach in Mike Riley.

To hire Frost, Nebraska would have to fire Riley. Which isn’t farfetched. But still, it has to happen.

Anyway, Frost was asked about the Nebraska report Saturday after his team’s win over Temple.

“That’s just totally false,” Frost said. “I haven’t paid attention to all these whirlwind rumors and everything and I’m not going to. I’ve got an unbelievable team and I’m going to coach them. I can promise you that no decision has been made about anything.”'

Frost is being politically correct. Let me dissect his quote.

Hasn't paid attention to rumors. Ok, is he really going to come out and admit this?

No decision has been made. Of course there hasn't, Riley is still our coach so no official offer has been made.

He could have very easily came out and ended this by saying "I'm not interested in Nebraska". Well, he didn't do that.

Scott has integrity and seems like a straight shooter. Do you think it is possible he is honestly waiting to make a decision until the regular season is over?

I just don't see him being someone who deals with distractions.

So it goes something like this..

Moos (to Scott's agent): "We really want Scott at X amount for X years. He's our top choice."

Scott's agent: "You are gonna have to wait until the season is over because Scott isn't going to make a decision until then."

That is not how it works. You really think his agent wouldn’t share the offer with him? I know it upsets you, but you are going to have to accept that Scott Frost is leaving UCF and the wonderful state of Florida in a couple weeks.

Has any coach admitted to looking for a new job in the regular season? Ever?
Nope, in fact I still wonder who the guy is who coaches Alabama. I remember when Nick Saban, the head coach of the Miami Dolphins told everyone he was not going to Alabama, but I will tell you the guy currently coaching Alabama looks alot like Nick Saban.

Anyone consider he could be pissed about the leak last night? Not liking the vibes I’m getting.

Highly doubt he will decide where he’s coaching in the future based on a rumor posted online, true or not. If he’s coming here, he’s coming here. If not, he wasn’t coming to begin with and congrats to UF or TAMU

Lol. You are something else.

My point is Scott doesn't deal with the distraction now, and plays out his year, then decides.

Do you think he is lying? Do you think he has already made the decision?

I am thinking there is an offer on the table, and he is going to decide after the regular season. I believe him when he says that.

I have always hoped Scott goes to Nebraska. I wanted him last go around, and was summarily banned for saying so. Now, it's a tougher decision for him, IMO.

Exactly. Leaks happen but it also wouldn't be inconceivable that someone could take an educated guess on terms and be correct.

Frost gave a nondenial denial that all coaches give in these situations. I’m not worried about it.
This is what I see. He has not denied one thing. He is just denying that he has agreed to anything. That sounds about right for a coach with multiple weeks left in the season.

Not that anyone on here cares about country but Marty Stuart played amazing before Chris Stapleton!! And god this place is as empty as a UCF game. But ******** the music is great!!

I keep trying to convince my wife to left our 4 month old to grow an unbelievable mullet like Marty, and he is damn close. She just keeps insisting on cutting it but I have final say on his hair

Can anyone think of an example —- ever —— where a coach not named Lane Kiffin, with several weeks left in his season, has said “while I am proud to be coaching at Bullwinkle University I have accepted a position at Rocky U and will be coaching there next year. No more questions please, gotta get to practice”.

I’m sure it’s happened somewhere but always what is said is “I’m focused 100% on these kids and season”

Oh yeah....I am sure he is pissed. And I don't blame him. But I am sure that would mean I would be making a call to my agent if I was Frost. If there is a leak, that is where it would have to come from.

The thing I love about SF is that he isn’t denying anything. He says nothing is final, but he has yet to say he hasn’t talked to anyone or anything remotely close to that. The truth is we all know he has been in contact with various schools about his future. Doesn’t mean he will leave (we all assume he will), but I just appreciate he hasn’t been dishonest and said he hasn’t not said anything. (I feel like I had a lot of double negatives there)

The longer he waits, the more valuable he is. No incentive to do anything now. Just keep winning. You may have to outbid UF. You can't outbid the plethora of recruits in Florida though.

Banned for going OFF on the Riley hire, for what it's worth, I'll go out that way...

And I don't think Frost is like Saban or Kiffen. May be coach-speak, we will see. I hope so. If you actually listen to what he is saying, no decision has been made yet. And that makes the most sense to me.

And I think he means it. After the season, he will look at all of his options. Just my opinion.

As others have pointed out, he didn’t even deny anything specific...

Press: “Coach Frost, there’s a rumor your wife decided to use Dr. Brown’s brand baby bottles even though you wanted Tommee Tippee. Is that true?”

Frost: “That’s just totally false,” Frost said. “I haven’t paid attention to all these whirlwind rumors and everything and I’m not going to.”

Press: “She was seen purchasing Dr. Brown’s bottles at Baby’s R Us.”

Frost: “I can promise you that no decision has been made about anything.”

;)

Not disagreeing with you, but if the financials that have been mentioned are true then Frost/Agent have discussed with Nebraska interest in the job. Not sure you would make an offer unless the other side has expressed interest in the job.

Nobody is waiting until the seasons over. It may not be in the forefront of his mind, but he's most likely decided.

Either way, he's not staying at UCF. I find it funny people take that idea seriously.
