The head coach is the man in charge. HCSF is the face of the program. I am never going to claim to be in a position to say this coach should go or that coach should go. I'm not qualified. I'm also not going to say (ok, maybe I do when I am pissed off) that this player or that player should go. I'm not qualified or not in the know as to how the backups are doing. For all we know, the "lack of culture" guys ARE the backups :p

What I do know, however, is how the man should act when in a CEO-type position. He should be the shield in front of his team and his staff in public. He should be holding them accountable in any way he sees fit in private.

I don't think calling out players or lack of talent or even coaching should ever be done in public. Not because it isn't true, but because I don't think it helps accomplish anything positive. If someone is questioning players, plays, game plans, etc, he should be saying that it is his game plan, his approach and that players and coaches are doing what he is asking them to do. Because at the end of the day, it is true. He has picked his staff, his approach, his game plans and ultimately his players.

And if those players are making the same mistakes game after game, it is because he is allowing it to happen.

I liked it only because he’s pissed. We all are. I’m not saying it was right or wrong. But it’s time to put in those that are bought in and tell the others to hit the road

I like Frost and he’s doing a lot of great things with turning the culture. This is great but at the end of the day it only works if you win some games. If we don’t make a bowl game, I don’t know how he can go into a recruits living room and sell them that Nebraska is the place, specially after missing post season (isn’t hard to accomplish) 2 years straight.

I’ll echo what I said in another post but this staff is very green and it’s becoming obvious. Unpopular opinion by majority here but as a staff, we’re in the bottom half of the big 10. Frost might be an offensive wiz but there are other components. Our O-Line has been bad, defensive coordinator is always playing checkers rather than chess and our special teams? Do we even have a guy coaching that unit ? Average coaching is going to lead to average results. This years schedule is easy enough to get 7-8 wins, even with this roster and our starting QB out. It will be a miracle if we can get 6. We’re going to have to need Purdue and Maryland to practically give those games away.

so where do we go from here? My take is keep the staff intact and let them have 4 years. My guess though is that it won’t end pretty and folks here are going to be livid if we don’t make a bowl this year.

What would you do when your receiver lines up a yard off the LOS when he has played receiver his whole football career and doesn't do the simplest thing to check with the side judge if he's ok or not.

I'm torn is that coaches or the player? I mean probably 10 years of playing WR for this guy and he screws up the basics.

yeah he effed up but so did our defense allowing number 1 to look like Jerry Rice and their back up qb to look like Joe Montana. When I have an issue with our staff, it’s not Frost. It’s the DC and ST coach.
