It was a mistake by him and Nebraska. It wasn’t going to work out . It was to much pressure for him and he realized it half through the first year. Now with all that said he didn’t do thing to try to make it work.
It wasn’t his first head coaching job. But it was a head-coaching job for which he was not ready. And then because he was Scott Frost, the whole deal went on for about a couple years longer than it should have.
Guess what, he's still a loser at Nebraska and nothing will ever change that fact.
He should have been fired (rightfully so) after two years. Total incompetence. I really don't care about his family. Best of luck to the Golden Knight.
I'm still skeptical of Frost as a head coach. Not sure what UCF did his final year was his doing, sometimes you catch lightning in a bottle. Now if he's happy now good for him and his family just don't make the same mistake twice, you don't need the money.
He had the QB to run his offense the way he wanted it run, and some very good skill talent for the AAC, a place in which good defense was not typically played. Chin’s opportunistic D fit his offense like a glove.
In the B1G, you have to fight for every yard and your defense has to stop the run. That was kryptonite to Frost’s approach.
Wish he would just fade away into the background! he’s been pampered his whole life, he found out he at Stanford bill Walsh didn’t cater to him so he came crawling back to Nebraska!

I hope Frost is a total failure at UCF. The guy was handed everything he needed/wanted by NU to be successful and he proceeded to booze it all away. And I am not buying the “stress” argument. We made the dude filthy rich and he decided all on his own to hide inside a bottle of bourbon.

Remember, Nebraska has never been his first choice, only the choice that afforded a better opportunity. The first time it was to get on the field and be a winner. The second was a pure money grab.

I don't think he could make the grades at Stanford either. He had to come back.
I would love to see him lose his first game by a single score due to bad special teams play. But realistically I just don't want to have to hear about him every week during the season.
He didn’t have to come back. He could have gone elsewhere. But it turns out, I’m very happy he did.
I don’t know anything about his grades, but the guy gets denigrated enough. He’s been smeared continuously as a Drunk for years. Only to have that recently debunked. Continuous Hearsay gets taken as the gospel when it gets repeated over and over.
And it was stated that if it was true, surely someone would have reported more than one verifiable experience with pictures and video. That’s never happened.
So I wouldn’t want to smear him with the grades issue if we don’t know it’s true.
As a positive to his coaching, He was regularly evaluated and brought on staff of a few NFL Hall of Fame Coaches. That would have never happened if he wasn’t perceived as a quality Coach. I believe besides Northern Iowa and Oregon, he was on the NFL Staff for Bill Walsh, Bill Belichick and Mike McCarthy for example.
Until Nebraska he had earned, the title as a quality Coach. For various reasons, Nebraska was not the fit for him. And he was not the right Coach for Nebraska.
And if he’d had the personal issues that have been so consistently reported, UCF would have known at this point and he’d never been rehired.

Being head coach at UCF is probably more like being a coach in the Big 8 before the merger. A little glad handing, be a ball coach and get good recruits. Being head coach at Nebraska in the Big Ten is a different job. Frost didn't want to do that job, and could not attract the kind of coaches and players to make his version of football work in the league. His most recent remarks speak of someone who can't take responsibility for their decisions. When things get tough, the entitled golden boy comes out. Rhule may ultimately not get it done in Lincoln, but the contrast with Frost could not be more glaring. Rather doing woe is me when things went off the rails in the back half of the season, he made a tough decision and demoted a long time assistant, then probably brought the coaching career of another long-time assistant to a close after the season.

Ya Frost was over his head at Nebraska. About half way through year 2 he knew it wasn’t going to work but unfortunately we had the good ole boys club that wouldn’t do anything about it . I honestly think Frost would have been relieved if he was canned after year 2 . I agree on the stories of his personal life. Frost was here almost 5 seasons . Look how quickly the video of Urban Meyer got out . If Frost was hitting up Coeds at Gate 25 some video would have been revealed.
Yeah but I also don't believe Urban Meyer had clean hands at tOSU. But nothing came out there either.

Yes ,But unlike Frost , Urban was winning at the highest level.
And any one of those would have provided a fireable for cause situation. That would have saved Nebraska a lot of money.

Agreed. I’m happy for him and his family for the opportunity they have now. I wish him nothing but success. He’ll always be one of ours to me.
