From the 10 game body of work I've seen, he's best in transition, finishing off the drive and dish, offensive rebounding and put backs. What he's not, is a back to the basket PF. Against Miami, and again vs SB, we saw this weakness. It looks like he's pressing at times to get involved with the post up game. It's the weakest part of his skill set. I'd rather see him taking that 8-10 footer which he's shown an ability to hit. Play to strengths.

He's made like 3 uncontested 10 footers in his entire Rutgers career by my unofficial count so he has not proven that he can consistently hit a shot in my book. But he needs to show it or he's going to have problems in January and February.

Well .. he has made 3-4 of those mid-rage shots this year alone, all in the last 3 games - and made them all.

The problem is that he does not TAKE those shots. I believe he will HAVE to take those shots to increase his effectiveness against tougher competition. Taking and making those 10-15 foot shots opens up HIS offensive game, and everyone else's.

Freeman is terrific: He is athletic (and it shows on fast breaks, where he is outstanding), hard-working, and a tenacious rebounder. But he is an under-sized PF against better competition.

No way he's taller than 6'5" and it shows given how much he gets stuffed close to the basket. Totally agree that he needs to shot 3 or 4 10 footers a game. He actually took that shot more last year before he got hurt. Definitely need it to get any upsets this year...

Stony Brook's #22, Sekunda (generously listed at 6'6") was guarding Freeman in the post. He couldn't get a clean shot off. We need Deshawn, but someone needs to tell him he's not Kevin McHale.
