We better start shooting these better or it will cost us down the line. Oweh needs to put some arch on his shot. He keeps hitting the front rim. Jelavic is shooting way too hard. Work on these guys. No reason not to shoot 80% as a team. Don’t be like a Cal team.

Oweh doesn't consistentely concentrate and have a routine. Screams lazy to me but he's a kid so you get what you get. The fan backlash from that out of bounds calamity in Nashville seemed to get his attention, so thats's good.

Last year's team shot 73.1% from the free-throw line.
This year's team is currently shooting 72.4% from the free-throw line.

The 2019-20 Kentucky Wildcats hold the program record for the best team free-throw percentage in a single season, hitting 79.7% from the line. Led by Immanuel Quickley (89.5% career), that squad featured elite shooters Tyrese Maxey (83.3%) and Ashton Hagans (81.0%), making them the most efficient foul-shooting team in school history.
Key details regarding UK free-throw shooting:
  • Best Team Percentage: The 2019-20 team's 79.7% established the school record.
  • Top Individual Season: Immanuel Quickley led that 2019-20 team with a 92.3% individual free-throw percentage, ranking among the best single-season performances in school history BigBlueHistory.net.
  • High Volume vs. Percentage: While the 2013-14 team attempted the most free throws in a season (1,146), they only shot 68.2%, whereas the 2019-20 team combined high volume with accuracy.
  • All-Time Leader: Immanuel Quickley is Kentucky's all-time free-throw leader (minimum 200 attempts) at 89.5%.

As a team we are shooting 72% for the season.

Moreno 67% and Diabate 64%, Garrison 66% all with bad form.

Oweh doesn’t have engaged in his routine that needs to use legs when shooting FT. 71%

Jela Is the one that I am totally confused. 41%!!!! werent the big Euros supposed to be able to shoot the ball well? I looked him up , and overseas he was shooting 68 % . That’s not great but better than 41%.

our best ft shooters from active players , JJ 91%, Noah 84% , Chandler 83% , Aberdeen 81%.

the problem is Oweh has most attempts 141 so our average as a team is closed to his .

also from the top 5 on attempting FT, OweH, Moreno, Diabate, only Aberdeen and Chandler-are decent FT makers.

Fix Oweh and and bigs Ft and you will improve as a team. Or have JJ , Aberdeen, Chandler , Noah drive more to get more FT attempts.

quick fix, improve Oweh consistency by forcing him to use the legs.

Got a chuckle that you said no reason to not shoot 80% as a team, then couple posts later megablue posts that we have NEVER had a team shoot 80%. Wow, I did not know that. 79.7% is damn close though. It is a shame that 19-20 team never got post season chance. Was a fun team. I can see Quick at the line with his eyes closed, silently praying....swish.

Currently, there are only two (2) teams shooting over 80% from the line.

"No reason not to shoot 80% FT as a team" is about as smart as 3-4 losses is "Kentucky Standards"

LMAO...college teams don't "work on free throws" in practice. Free throws are considered side work, like hitting buckets in the cages in baseball. You can't shoot them for them man. "Force Oweh to use his legs more" lol. How is that gonna work? You're paying him $2M and you have to have him on the court to have a chance to win. You gonna bench him for not using his legs more LMAO?
Shaq had college and pro coaching for 20 years and my 9 year old grandson can shoot as high a percentage as Shaq did. In the end, you can't shoot them for them

Shaq’s hands were too big for the ball. He should have done what Rick Barry said and shoot underhand.

Funny story, Rick Barry went to L.A. and offered to teach Shaq to shoot underhanded. Shaq's ego was too big, he would rather crack backboards throwing those shot put one handers clanking off the rim. Thats what I mean, free throws are mechanics, but more than that, they are hours and hours of hard work
