In interview with Simple LJS articles. Stokes who played for Huskers on 94 & 95 teams and is currently director of scouting for the Panthers, talked about college teams and there ability to provide draft picks for NFL. He said 25 teams can be counted on to provide that talent. In order for Nebraska to get back to one of those teams they will have to be able to recruit Texas and California talent again as they did in the 90's. He said that talent no wants to come in and play right away and then go to NFL after three years. He is not sure the Huskers will be able to do that.

Then the article describes Wisconsin and Iowa being ahead of us, which is true, but those are system guys, that redshirt and develop. I know some leave after their junior year, but not your typical Ohio St model

We’re going after system guys too. While our recruiting has improved under Frost, we’re not recruiting guys that will only be here for 3 years.

What you said is true, but the point I think Stokes is trying to make is that it will be harder for Nebraska to recruit those difference makers than it was in the 90's because of the change in expectations of the kids today. I think the Huskers will be able to have success with linemen as we can recruit them within the 500 mile radius. They also take longer to develop as they mature to the size necessary for the NFL which typically is more than three years

NFL wants at least two years of tape on a kid. Hard to develop guy for the NFL when they are forced to get new head or position coaches every two years.

Alabama seems to have a revolving door of coaches. The difference is they get the elite talent that doesn't need as much development.

Stokes was a Lincoln East product! Pretty rare for Lincoln to produce talent.

What the hell does Erick stocks know? The panthers are trash. Matt rhule will get 2 seasons.

Lincoln east is probably the least good at sports in Lincoln. They would lose to park view Christian in footballl
