They announced a blackout against Maryland. Feel like that would have been a better aesthetic for a night game like tmrw.

Yeah, night game woulda been cooler. That said, I was at the Wisky game and saw the video promotion advertising the blackout. Pretty bada$$ with the Empire music, etc, ha. Dark side carrying over to basketball? Love it.

As someone who just wants everyone to wear one color, whichever of our many it is, I thought the stripe out was better than what I expected.
That only matters if you're playing outdoors.
The stripe out was WAY better than expected. Way better. Save for a few people here and there, the sections were mostly the correct colors. It was mildly impressive.
I suspect ROCS was referring to the "results" on the court that night against Penn State. The stripeout itself looked great, the team, not so much.
Perhaps the RAC exterior should be the actual Rutgers Death Star instead of the football stadium end zone.

I agree that doing it against Penn State was not the best choice of games to make this happen, however, the Rutgers fans did what they were told and there were actually stripes in the arena.
Was it as good as going to a Tennessee stripe out or a Penn State stripe out? No but it was a million times better than the attempt at a Rutgers football game.
Definitely much better than expected, I was for sure impressed.
But still, who in the AD is making the decision I cited above? They need that taken away from them
In RU defense the stripeout itself for fans worked better than I thought it would. People knew wgmhat to wear in their section.
The game result was a different story.
It looked very good on TV but those that weren’t in the right color stuck out like a sore thumb unfortunately.
My thoughts:
1 - This is an indoor sport. It literally couldn't matter less if the game is at night or during the day.
2 - Are we really complaining about a stripe out that uses white because PSU also uses white? Virtually every school in the country uses white. Also, it looked great on TV... nobody was confused about whose home game it was.
3 - We can't really be complaining about playing Seven Nation Army as if it's a PSU thing, right? I'm genuinely not sure I've gone to a sporting event in the past decade that didn't play this song. If you think this is off-limits because PSU also plays it, you're giving PSU way too much credit.

lol....that night appears to have been A LOT of JWilliams and the team/staff (apparently) being told he was gonna be good to go that night then, in the afternoon, they get the "no go." Team was miserable from start-to-finish (trust me, was sitting in Row A, so their faces the entire game and you could see it in their play).

I would enjoy seeing that. But playing in that venue was not mentioned. The expected response though would indicate the right nerve was struck.

But for me “stripe out” or 7 Nation Army being done at RU is the equivalent of Sweet Caroline being played at Yankee Stadium.

Seven Nation Army is unequivocally NOT a Penn State thing. That's wild to me that you're giving them credit for that. EVERYBODY plays it. Zombie Nation is much more their thing (are you confusing the two?), but even that isn't theirs to own... everybody plays that one as well.

Also, that stripe out photo is a fake mockup they released before their first stripe out in 2015. And a really quick google search uncovered that WVU did a stripe out in 2012. I'm sure dozens of other schools beat PSU to this concept too. To claim they own it is wild.

You take the fact that we play Seven Nation Army, scratch that, Zombie Nation, and execute a stripe out -- just like dozens of other schools do -- as riding PSU's coat tails and trying to copy them.
