have not been an advocate of mid season firing. But I can’t stand seeing our players feel hopeless. Would a change give them hope or is it detrimental?
No. You might as well forfeit all your games if you can Riley now.have not been an advocate of mid season firing. But I can’t stand seeing our players feel hopeless. Would a change give them hope or is it detrimental?
Absolutely not. Firing him now will hurt our ability to get a better coach. Let him get the option to retire.have not been an advocate of mid season firing. But I can’t stand seeing our players feel hopeless. Would a change give them hope or is it detrimental?

can we do that?
Are we going to win any more with Riley as head coach?
Based on what I've seen from Purdue, heretofore our most winnable game, this is a legit question. Man, we suck. Are we going to win any more with Riley as head coach?
My sense from the effort on Saturday night is that the players don't care anymore and Riley has lost the team. If there would have been a sense of playing for Riley's job I don't think we give up 15 (or whatever) TD drives in a row. Even really bad teams that play hard don't do that.have not been an advocate of mid season firing. But I can’t stand seeing our players feel hopeless. I don't think it had anything to do with Riley's job security. I think they're so mentally beat up from all of the criticism in social media and being told they had no chance. We've got hundreds of people wondering aloud if we'll win another game this year then OSU scores easily on their first 2 drives and they just said, "yep they're right. We've got no chance against OSU". They can get it back together for Purdue....I think. My sense from the effort on Saturday night is that the players don't care anymore and Riley has lost the team. So I don't agree that the players would feel hopeless. Look at Oregon State. They looked horrible. Then with Anderson gone they almost beat Colorado and missed a last second field goal. I don't get the sense that any of them are all that sold on Riley.
