This team is almost statistically identical to the 2001-02 team — that team was a bit better on O and a bit worse on D — with Jerome Coleman, Herve Lamizana and co. And many still look back fondly upon that team. I'm upset too, but I thought it was interesting and shows how much of an outlier Pike's been at RU compared to others

For the KenPomers out there: https://kenpom.com/team.php?team=Rutgers&y=2002

31 percent from 3, 58 percent from the line. Some pretty icky losses against East Carolina, VCU and an OT win vs. FDU
Those are stats for the 2001-2002 team that finished 18-13, 8-8, but it was the 2002-2003 team that was mentioned as a comparison in the original post... Which team did you want to compare this year's team to?

The 2002-2003 team finished 12-16, 4-12 and shot 33.3% from 3, and 65.7% from the line.

That was my mistake. I intended to compare this team to the 18-13 01-02 team, who finished 105th in KenPom and 251st in offensive efficiency
