Who could have been hired, with relative ease? Not saying that we knew Frost and company would not pan out but who could NU have got if it was not Frost?

Fleck
Debore
Lance
Pitman

I would think those dudes would have jumped at the chance, right?

No sense speculating at this point..With UCF having so much success in 2017 the fan base was hell bent on wanting SF and we were all sucked in wanting him..

Davidson was in Moos ear the whole entire time and don’t believe Moos even considered another candidate..

Instead of Solich we could have had Mack Brown, Nick Saban, Bob Stoops, or a plethora of other coaches who were just assistants back then and later became stars. Hindsight is 20-20. If I had used my high school graduation money to buy Apple stock I would have $4.4 million today.

Wasn't it 5 years ago that Scott placed the B1G on notice they will need to adjust to him?

And a short time later told all the B1G teams to get their shots in now because in year two his team will be "dangerous".

Looks like everyone got what they wanted, right?

Nor should Moos have considered another candidate. It didn’t work but hindsight is 20/20. No wonder Florida told Frost he couldn’t bring Chinander.

Should have bought Apple stock somewhere along the line any way..

It wasn’t broke so there was no need hiring some one else with all the stability of Osborne staff still intact..

I think most of the cosches hired that cycle have failed miserably since then. At the time, Gus Malzahn was the guy I really wanted, but Frost was the guy it felt like we had to hire. Who knows how a guy like Gus would have done, but it would have had to be better than this.

I can count the people on maybe 2 fingers on this site that didn’t want Frost and 0 out in the wild around here.

With Gus, we would probably win our division most of the time, but would lose to Ohio State and Michigan.
