At least he made the QB cut back inside. Where somebody should have been there to tackle him. #44

Are you referring to the late hit or the missed tackle in the backfield. The former is modern dress on the QB call. The latter he made a good play and the QB made a better play. He is not terrible. Probably what Jason Peter said a few weeks ago; he should be playing at about 280. Big strong guy that would be more mobile.

He made a slow qb look like Lamar Jackson when he lost his jock strap?

Robinson's severely underperformed here. Guy would have been an All-American if he went anywhere else. Here he's one of the worst starting DL in the country. Just epitomizes the awful player development we've had here for so long.

It doesn’t really seem to be the recruiting, it seems the player developement sucks. The S & C sucks, the position coaches aren’t developing the players. Most of these guys were highly rated three star or four star players that allot of other teams recruited. The fact is save one or two of them we have the wrong coaches.

Because we make all our linemen on both side of the ball fat and slow. Duvall sucks

I wouldn't let Duval train those muffin-topped women you see destroying a large tray of taco bell wearing their t-shirts inscripted with "babe boss" or "princess".

The athletic department doesn't require excellence anymore. Sellouts occur no matter what product you put on the field, court, or diamond.

100% correct, Alberts let’s the football team go with no consequences then it rolls over to the basketball team and the baseball team. Do you think the women’s volleyball coach would still be around if they lost 75% of their games three consecutive years and had almost a quarter of their scholarship players transfer. I doubt it!

This is correct. Player development under Frost was atrocious. Only guy I really saw get significantly better was Cam Jurgens. More guys seemed to get worse in his program than I can ever remember. My biggest concern with handing the reins to Mickey is that he may not eliminate all the underperforming relics of the Frost era. I would hire a top-notch S&C guy from the SEC where the players are not only recruited as 4 stars but get even better by the time they hit the field.

One thing everyone needs to remember is you cannot coach speed. If you watched the Tenn/Bama game you saw pure speed.

I've been saying it for 5 years..Not a single player that enrolled at NU under Frost ever got better. They all just got ******.

It's also what you see with Palmer. We have one guy that is a game-breaker. Bama and Tenn are fielding teams full of those guys. One reason I want to give Mickey a shot is his ability to pull more of these guys from the south.

Cam Jurgens was the one exception. Most players got worse for various reasons - S&C failures, lack of effort, etc.

That was a great game, nice to see a good game plan. You are right, you can’t coach speed but you can coach ball control, and containment. You can coach proper tackling and good zone coverage alll of which none of our assistants know little about. I really like MJ but when you go to the podium and say we were out coached that speaks to he and the staffs total lack of preparation. If you were making a million dollars a year with the potential to jack it up to 6 million next year, would anyone be working harder than you? I don’t think so.

Fully agree. The SEC teams are loaded with those kind of players and most are from the South. Mickey is from NOLA and speaks the language, LOL. I hate to bring up minority issues but lets face it those are the athletes in the South with speed to burn. Hiring a minoritycoach would be a good thing for NU. I do not believe you hire just for that but if qualified, go for it. Without Mickey we have no Palmer, doubtful no Thompson and his team mate Washington along with a few others.
The other question I have is what has happened to HS football in Nebraska? When is the last time a great RB came out of Omaha? Where are the big corn fed Oline men that dotted the rosters back in the 1990's? Have they stopped playing FB up there? It's hard enough to recruit at NU and if you only have a few players in the state that can make your roster, that hurts. No coach will succeed without high quality players. Some midwest schools muddle by without them but I don't believe NU fans care to muddle by.
