If Pike had any dignity or honor, he would resign tonight.
I have desperately tried to stay optimistic, but it’s clear this team is very bad and Pike is to blame. His days should be numbered. But I doubt RU has the money to fire him and put together enough NIL to attract a good coach.

I have been a Pike supporter, however starting Francis tonight against SHU was coaching malpractice against that press.
Hopefully KZ has put him on notice that these kind of losses are unacceptable

None of us would resign and give up that much money
Zinn has to decide if the buyout is worth it considering loss of ticket sales and whatever revenue is lost in a RAC 25% full
And I’m not someone who thinks Schiano seat shouldn’t be warm with a losing season next year, but trying to say football and basketball are at same level right now is laughable
I still dont think he gets fired after this year, but Pike and this coaching staff are doing immense damage to this program. It is a five alarm dumpster fire at this point and I dont think that is changing with more NIL
At least GS understands what needs to be done in the NIL era. We don't know if he will succeed, but he gets the new reality. On the other hand, Pike is devoid of any understanding. He's a pre-NIL dinosaur and needs to be fired immediately.
SHU was 2-18 last year. you can turn things around fast in this era with the right coach and enough money
Take every NIL dollar and give it to football as long as Pike is the bball coach!
He is not going to get fired because Rutgers is not going to spend $20 million on basketball to buy Pike out.
Pike lost all of the casual fans after last years debacle and is losing / has lost many of the hardcore fans with the horrid performance to date this year !

Pikiell has lost it. He assembled this roster. The Europeans who were added suck. The guy from NJIT sucks. The other transfers suck.

Every coach get the blame for losses but the talent on this team is bad. It’s a complete failure by the university to support this program and many other sports too. I’m just glad Zinn has been hitting pavement to fix the issue. Not sure it will be fixed in time for Pike but they seem to be making strides.

At the end of the season. It's time. Kelli needs to figure out the $3-4M per year for 5 years. No one is donating a cent of NIL to someone who has no idea how to operate in this environment.

Pike isn't trying hard enough. His roster building is a combination of laziness and ineptitude. He doesn't motivate. He's afraid to make staff changes. This is the Big Ten. Not 4th grade rec basketball.

I think Pike’s ceiling is what we saw 2020-2022 but we got lucky that O’Connell, Harper, baker, Mulcahy were all quite good

Idk. It just feels like he's going through the motions relative to a few years ago. He obviously hates the landscape (who can blame him for that?). Him not shaking up the staff after the last two seasons to me is him saying "I'll do what I want, fire me if you don't like it. I don't care either way".
If you want an example of actually not working hard enough, it's Tariq Francis. Complete joke of a signing. He's at a mid-major at best if it wasn't for the BK connection.
At best it's what you said, he's trying but is too stubborn to make changes in his staff, his approach, etc.
I don’t think you can put together a team that is this disinterested and fundamentally poor if you are actually trying to coach competitively.

We're 145 in KenPom right now. Our peers are Wright State, St. Thomas and Towson, this clearly isn't just a money thing (Wright State's entire athletic department spend is at $11 million lol!)
And it's not like one can earnestly say we're building something with the freshman-heavy lineups. We're not progressing toward any sort of team identity like in Pike's first season, there's widespread disinterest, and Pike hasn't really shown the ability to retain any player development successes he might achieve.
