Do we really need him to play and reinjure himself? It’s an amazingly fast recovery…

I'm prepared to be disappointed when Fidone is suited up and ready to play, but Frost won't use him because he prefers a walk-on instead.

I would be disappointed if he does play

I know, just wondering why we even trot him out. Martinez can overthrow Fidone just as easily as he does Allen…
You want to keep Fidone feeling like part of the team. I view it as incentive to keep working and to stick around. When you're out and rehabbing it's tough mentally to stay engaged.

My post was meant to be more of a joke about Frost's player management. I would save him until the Iowa game since that's the only thing we have left to play for now.

He's probably suiting up as a reward for the rehab work he put in and wants to play. I wouldn't expect to see much of him if any on the playing field but I think it's a good idea to keep players happy and motivated when you can. He can be in the 4 games without losing eligibility.

Bingo. Plus with the 4-game redshirt rule, no eligibility lost.

I could see splitting him out wide as a receiver for a couple of series at the most. Not sure how much his blocking has developed since coming to NU.
