Not surprising at all. Room is stacked. Need to recruit a freshman for the future though this cycle.

How is the room “stacked”? Honest question. I don’t see a ton of talent there. See some decent players but nothing special. And now Nelson had hip surgery. Would be amazing if HH emerges as a star there. Curious who you think has potential

Seems like a great guy and a good teammate. Has a good build. But he looks like a baby giraffe, running out around out there. And he doesnt block well. He can probably be a superstar at a mid major conference.

I feel like we got a bunch of highly rated tight end recruit over the last couple years. Maybe I’m misremembering

With the 105 limit you can only have 4, maybe 5 guys at a position and we still have: Lindenmeyer, HH, Nelson, Markway, Flynt, Ingwerson. And Jones could end up there too.

Agreed after hearing the Nelson news

Lindemeyer and Haarberg

Thinner and thinner by the day at the pass catching positions

Hopefully no more injuries between now and the first game

Wish him the best, but I’m not surprised with Haarberg moving over and he seemed not as happy..

Those surgery repairs made him a step or two slower..

HH and Lindenmeyer are fine options already. Freshmen Ingwerson or Flynt could easily emerge. I’d still lean that Nelson ends up a TE and I don’t think the hip kills his career.

The “no pass catcher talent” makes absolutely no sense. It was better this year than last and we have upgraded the WR room again for next season. The best dude in that room eligible to return, is returning and we added more transfers and way better incoming freshman. WR room is by far the deepest on the team. I would expect more transfers out.

How does this even work? Grad transfer? Didn't the portal close 6 days ago?
The transfer portal closed on December 28, but there are a some exceptions. One exception is that a player who participates in a bowl game or a playoff game has an additional five days to submit paperwork to enter the portal once their season comes to an end. So, Fidone had five days after the Pinstripe bowl to submit his paperwork to enter the transfer portal. Nebraska's compliance department then had 48 hours to submit his name into the transfer portal database. So, I think today was the last day for his name to go into the portal database. Another exception is that grad transfers have until the end of the spring portal window to submit their names into the portal.

Transfer portal FAQ: When college football's winter window closes, who can still enter?

Don’t forget about the LSU transfer Markway I suspect he will be a meaningful contributor

Sad. Not surprised. Being devastated by injuries must suck. Feel like it hurt his potential.

Best of luck.

Obviously many factors at play here, but is this also an indicator that Satt could be moving on? Fidone was obviously here prior to Satt, but he was certainly Satt's guy.

Hard to tell if Satt loved Fidone or hated him. Tried to get Thomas the ball a lot but in the worst ways possible.

Ingwerson supposedly gave our first team defense fits on the scout team. He can play. We’re going to be fine at TE.

Keelan Smith was recruited as a TE as well.
Would need to bulk up some. Haarberg is a pretty interesting option. Not sure how big Ingwerson is now but early on there was talk about building him in to an OT. I expect him to play some this year.

Did he play? I'm leery of these stories when players are allowed 4 games plus the bowl game and still preserve their redshirt. At the same time, nothing would surprise me with how we manage players.
