Gotta say UF made a good hire in Collins both in coaching and recruiting (though UF recruits itself). If I’m Stein I’m chomping at the bitt to face White’s defense, guess we’ll see whose choice it was to not press though it would have helped the DBs if we had a better than average edge after Allen left.

I think Sumrall has already made it clear they will not be using Kentuckys soft defense. Sumrall is way more aggressive so probably won't look familiar.

Well dang he's already getting paid by UK isn't he? Probably thinks he can get another head coach position.

Aa a consultant or whatever, let's say he gets paid $100,000. He's probabky spending more than he makes to move down there and live there. Maybe he doesn't want the position that badly. Maybe he's content to just sit out of coaching for a year. Who knows.

yeah, with the style of play Stoops wanted, seems like the loss of John Schlarman was the thing that may have the single biggest factor that ended Stoops’ time here…
That's my theory too. It's up there with Hinshaw's inability to coach up or recruit a good QB. Gran was a great OC but couldn't do much without a competent, coached-up QB.

Yeah, agree...and those things add even more to why I think Schlarman was that much more critical. His OLs were amazing at creating running lanes...even more impressively considering how little passing threat there usually was

100%. We had some of the best lines in CFB, Man.
