I didn't really care for frost, he lost to asu, messed with kate, went to stanford, and cried too much about the NC.

But, reading this board, it seems frost is the next coach.

So, if this is indeed the case, I have to forget them pass discrepancies, and get on with thinking how to rebuild Nebraska Football. Because at the end of the day NU Football must live on. 100 years from now we want NU with 10 hiemen winners and 15 more NC's.

I could care less what he did or didn't do when he was a kid in college. It's not like he was a bad *** or something. Lol He's proven to be the next hot, up and coming head coach that just happened to grow up in Nebraska. I'm not obsessed with him but he's probably our best option. If it ain't Scott, so be it. I trust the Moos!

Husker football was great when we had continuity on staff, and did things differently than the rest of the nation. There are only a few coaches left that understand this, and can get away with doing things differently here at Nebraska. A former NC winning qb , who happens to have had success at every level he has coached at happens to be one of them. We weren't great because we kept bringing in NFL quality coaches like USC or Miami, who would then leave for other jobs. We can't bring in a big name like Kelly or Saban...and if we hit gold on a young guy like Urban Meyer, he will jump ship for an easier job within 5 years. Case in point woudl have been Bo. Lets say Gabbert stays with the huskers...and our #1 defense of 2009 had Gabbert as qb. We at least win 11-12 games and a BCS bowl...then Bo takes the Ohio State job the next season.

There is nothing you say that can back up your claim of "happens to be one of them". I pray it is Frost, and it works. Otherwise our jaded fanbase will continue to get in its own way with ridiculous claims like this.

I see what you are saying but he's one of ours and happens to be the 'Next great coach' so we need to support him (assuming he comes). He has the drive and intelligence to special things here.

He has worked with the best of the best so I'm sure he's matured quite a bit from his younger years.

I know after Bill O'Brien left a significant percentage of our fan base pined for a former player to be named coach namely Al Golden or Mike Munchak. The AD went with James Franklin which turned out to be a great move. Understand why Husker fans want Frost but just because he played there before doesn't necessarily mean he is the absolute best candidate for the job. I'm sure your athletic director who has an excellent reputation will do his due diligence and land an outstanding coach be it Frost or someone else. Nebraska can't afford to mess this up after the recent coaching decisions and I don't think they will. Having said that people can't let nostalgia for the past interfere with the hiring process and I'm sure Moos won't.

Sounds like a good candidate to me
