Same here, didn’t realize he was drafted. Also his senior year he averaged 10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and a whopping 93% on FTs (57 for 61, pretty good for a 6’9 guy).Never realized Remley was drafted. Shame on me. To be fair, I was 13 (but 4 years away from my first year as a season ticket holder).
51I think he scored 50 in a game against maybe Penn State.
I'm not sure if I'm imagining this, but I believe I was a that game (or another game when he scored a lot). I went to a lot of women's games when I was younger and they often had doubleheaders going, so I got to see him play a bunch. He was awesome.I think he scored 50 in a game against maybe Penn State.
First time ever hearing of Remley.Same here, didn’t realize he was drafted. Also his senior year he averaged 10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and a whopping 93% on FTs (57 for 61, pretty good for a 6’9 guy).

I remember those double headers ….the men were so bad the women were the second game !I'm not sure if I'm imagining this, but I believe I was a that game (or another game when he scored a lot). Good read, thanks Mike@BillyC80

Story of how Remley got drafted...

Hard to believe it's been 40 years...Good article Mike. Will always be ND game for Remley.
And RU still lost …51
He could score at will... averaged 24.7 ppg his senior season in 1986-87... honestly, he was the lone reason a Rutgers fan wanted to attend a game when Littlepage was coach

That era opened up lots of season tickets at the 100 level. Every cloud has a silver lining. Thank you Craig Littlepage. The lone bright spot in a dystopian hellscape of utterly inept basketball.
So was Brian Ellerbee.Remley was also last pick of the NBA draft. Remley may have been on paper best player in that recruiting class. Except John Battle was in that class.
Yeah.. there isn't even a 7th round anymore.. is there? It is TWO ROUNDS now and has been awhile. Still.. if I was drafted in the 7th round of an NBA draft.. even the last pick.. I'd still count it.Remley was also last pick of the NBA draft. Remley may have been on paper best player in that recruiting class. Except John Battle was in that class.
