Can you grad transfer and stay in the AAC? Could use Crawford even as a SF.

It should be noted that Tubby Smith demoted Keelon Lawson to "Director of Player Development", probably because he was being a helicopter parent on the bench and Tubby was afraid his head would be nicked by the blades. Keelon was Josh Pastner's guy, not Tubby's. Tubby is too old and established for any parental nonsense. Until you guys have coached boy's and girl's sports like I have, you don't know the full of what this nonsense can be.

The transfer of the Lawsons to Kansas is apparently coming without any coaching position for Keelon. Kansas is getting these Lawsons for free so they can get better exposure for their professional aspirations and because Dad was demoted by the Memphis coach.

If I recall doesn't Keelon have two other younger kids in play for CBB recruiters ??? I guess hell put them on the market with himself next...;)

I guess the answer is yes, see McMurray from USF to SMU on TCF's chart:
McMurray is not a grad transfer.

He is a sophomore who transferred from USF to a JuCo after the fall semester. He will then transfer from that JuCo to SMU

Thanks Russ, I thought the question was more involving transferring from one AAC school to another and if that was allowed. I know the Big East didn't allow it and most conferences don't......From your answer it seems it's not allowed.. since the part the chart above left out is that he spent a year in JUCO so that was actually his previous school & there was no direct transfer from one AAC school to another.

I believe that if you transfer directly from one AAC school to another AAC school, the player has to sit out two seasons.

I don't think that applies to grad transfers though, which someone asked in the thread. Then someone said looks like yes, citing McMurray transferring from USF to SMU, so I was pointing out that McMurray isn't a grad transfer & that Twitter account didn't include him going from USF to a JuCo.
