1 Bama v 8 Washington.
2 Clemson v 7 UCF.
3 Notre Dame (yea, I know) v 6 Georgia.
4 Oklahoma v 5 Ohio State.

And that's it!

The PAC 12 Champ must be rewarded and put in regardless of what you think of the league.

It's a balance of power thing.

Is this due to Big 10 being absent for 2 straight years? Justice has been served some say. Increase your schedule strength Big 10.

The four-team playoff system sucks. Another outstanding example of the failed
leadership at the NCAA. Coupled with nothing being done to clean up basketball
cesspool and you have a bunch of overpaid, whiny, incompetent boobs more
worried about their plush retirement plan than the well-being of college sports.

On second thought, my seedlings would look like this based on the results of the entire season.

1 - Alabama
2 - Clemson
3 - Oklahoma
4 - Notre Dame
5 - UCF
6 - Georgia
7 - Ohio State
8 - Washington.

All based on who they lost to, whether they avenged that loss, and then who they beat. Must punish bad losses.

Yes because it is not really a playoff. It is a made for TV advertising structure. Bought media for it in the past. Lobbied hard for teams that would sell...not the best teams. Div III has it right. So does the no scholarship model.

Never understood the four-team format. Some say it's TV folks but it seems if more involved it would mean more advertising bucks. Then saw something the other day about on-going push for four mega-conferences. If that happened then each conference would have two or four divisions so would have payoffs within the conference that would lead us to a tournament type format. I think should go to eight teams - one from each conference and possibility of at-large teams. Might as well throw this in - believe any re-alignment of conferences should include giving attention to geography. Doesn't make much sense for the nearest conference member to be more than 800 miles from any team in that conference. Rivalries that folks can get to easier means more interest, more attendance.
