He was a person, just like all of us. His life was no more important than anyone else's.

doing what?
For about three or four years they would have a concert in a Ohio cornfield outside of Columbus if I remember right I was in my teens. they were 3 day concerts and it was basically a mini Woodstock. , even though the crowd was larger. One year it was hot and dry and there was only one place to get water, you literally had to fight your way to get water to bring it back to camp.

You guys can suck off Van Halen all you want. 3 bands from that era I can’t stand, Rush, Van Halen, and the Police.

You don't like Rush? Yes, you have proven again, you are a moron.

You have probably never even heard Red Barchetta.

Working Man. Tom Sawyer - one of the best songs ever.

Agree with you on Rush. Since their beginning, anytime they play one of their songs on the radio, I'm quick to turn it to another station. One of my worst days of my life was riding with some friends from Winchester, Virginia up to Cleveland and they played that cassette tape over and over again. Pure torture.

I agree on Rush and the Police. Especially Rush. Just terrible. Shame Neil Peart wasted all that talent with that band

Varsity Blues made Hot for Teacher popular in gentlemen's clubs, other than that, I'm not sure I can name a song of Van Halen.

Wait, they do that song 'Right Now' that WVU uses before the team heads back to the locker room pre game, right?

Jump was a good song. They had more good songs than you probably realize. Eddie was an amazing guitarist

They had a ton of hits. I just couldn’t ever get into them. It’s a debate I’ve had for years with my buddy who is a guitar nut. EVH may have been an awesome technical artist with the axe, it just wasn’t my sound.

Give me some SRV or BB King, Robert Johnson, Joe Bonamassa, Blues Sarceno, Johnny Lang, etc.

SRV was the man. Only one guitarist I would rate better is Hendrix

I never thought VH was the huge deal many made them out to be, they did have some good tunes and kicked some ***. "Jump," by the way, was notable for the keyboards since VH was known as such a guitar band by then. For a lot of people, their best stuff had been done before it ever got to "Jump."

VH had lots of good tunes played on the radio but here is a deep cut of theirs I liked. I'm not sure where I heard this. Maybe it was on the radio a couple times but if so not much, or maybe I knew someone that had the album this was from. I think one of my brothers had Van Halen II but other than that I wasn't exposed to a lot of VH albums.

I can't stand that insufferable douche either. Give me Kenny Wayne Shepard or Jimi.

DBT and Jason Isbell in particular are underrated guitar players. They don't really play that "style", but they really get going when the want to live.

That movie is entrenched in my high school years. Before every home football game at Scott, we would all gather in the ”greenroom“ after eating our pregame meals and would lay around and nap or watch Varsity Blues. The movie never got old.

Yes.

And they had the song "Dreams" that the WVU student added to a Louisville highlight video when we beat them in triple overtime when Pat White had his breakout and the video was repeatedly placed on youtube and repeatedly taken down. The guy did an awesome job on the video. It's a shame it couldn't stay up.

Never mind, here it is.

My baseline is the Delta blues, so, he’s right up my alley. His live rendition of High Water is one of my favorite songs ever. SRV’s Tin Pan Alley is also amazing. I prefer SRV to Hendrix on Little Wing as well.
