Had a great time at the inaugural Eddie Jordon Tip Off benefiting Rutgers Cancer Institute. Great job by all and for a good cause. BK is amazing especially with his auction dual that ended up raising $3,500. Team is young but very athletic. Got to speak with several after practice. Great group of really fine young men.

I'll second that Ron. Great appetizer before the big game tomorrow! I just got back a little while ago (I don't live right around the corner)... took my 7 year old son. First off, Brian and Janet deserve huge props! They killed it with the auction, the setup, everything was just great. And just like the open practice RU football held earlier this year, I walk away feeling "justification" for my fanatical support of the programs simply due to the fact that we have such great young men in both programs. Players that I interacted with tonight that stood out to me for their likeability... Bishop Daniels. Seems like a GREAT young man, super-nice, polite and sociable. Also C aka Corey... just like in his videos, tremendous personality! Mike W. is always very nice as well. Kwe was really polite, a little shy & maybe nervous but very friendly.

On the court skills? OK Nigel is niiice. Baller with insane hops. Wish he was eligible. G-Lew once again showed some beast-mode flashes. Freeman is gonna be a difference-maker. Corey will struggle with his shot, but he is gonna have a good year. Thomas will do some good things. And last but not least, Jonathan is relentless and is gonna do some great things as well. Like others have said, young, not the greatest shooters, but very athletic and tons of potential.

Finally... Justin G. has a SWEET stroke. I mean lights out. When all is said & done, IF he develops and gets bigger, he could be the best shooter we've had since Q.

P.S. I took a bunch of photos. I'll post my favorites to the board at some point in the next couple of days. Also, the RAC is looking better than ever. They did a TON more of the wall wraps and it looks pretty bad-a$$.

Ron...

Very kind sir! Overall, our auction raised almost 11k...so not a bad nights work!

It was a great night for a great cause. Hopefully word spreads for next season, because we need to make it bigger and better for all.

Many thanks to the dedicated 125 fans who made it out to celebrate Rutgers basketball in support of cancer research in NJ!

Coach JOrdan will find a way with JUstin Goode. Turns out on twitter he posted he made 91/100 three point shots. Has to find a way to get this kid 6 pts a game this season.

Thanks. I was wondering why you didn't mention Diallo. He looked good at the Court Club practice last week. The team is very athletic & energetic. Hopefully we can start out well and continue to improve.

Sorry my bad, it's late. Diallo. Ibrahima Thomas was a big man transfer we almost landed a couple years ago, but he went to Cincy from OK State instead. I meant Ibrahima Diallo. :D

Thanks for that correction, I actually went to the roster looking for a Thomas.

Foreman is going to be very important for us this year. I think he is the most aggressive player we have taking the ball hard to the basket. I think he is very much improved. He seems to work really hard.

Absolutely, Art. I think he is the X factor. What will show me how good he can be is what he doe when he breaks past his defender, and runs into a double team. That moment and what he does in it will be really important to this team. If he can draw and dish, we will be a lot better off.

Also, most important for him is what he does on defense. If he becomes a + defender, we will win more games/battle longer than we would have.

I think hell take his man off the dribble a lot. With improved shooters like Mike Williams, Grier and Goode, someone will be left open for a better, clear shot. If he continues through doubles and doesn't take advantage of his team mate, that will be telling on the ceiling of the team.
