Why would an NBA team want him? He does less with more than any coach in basketball. He damn near lost to a 16-seed this year.

Hurley is a bit of a mutant. Calhoun was an even bigger mutant. The reason UCONN wins is that those two coaches do/did everything that we want our coaches to do. Play great defense and develop players. The Reed kid at center was a foul machine for a good part of last season but is now playing at an All-American level. Hurley and his staff are excellent at finding players that fit in the portal and they offer an offense the is Euro-ball based and continues to develop.
I wonder who Harley’s brother was rooting for? Dan is nuts but his teams are tough. I personally enjoyed it though. I hate Dook. For so many reasons. They cost me a parlay recently too when they scored on a last second shot when they could have just held the ball. Screw dook and their front running fans. Mullins shot was a thing of beauty. Helleva game to watch, though.

If you watch it, the ref walked up to him and there was a brief exchange. Hurley had a weird expression on his face. Hurley wasn't the one initiating the exchange, but it did look weird.

I doubt this would even be a thing if Hurley had a smile on his face as opposed to whatever the hell his face was doing at that moment. I suspect he was still in shock from what had happened seconds earlier. Apparently Raftery looked like he had a stroke. And that place probably was about as loud as a crowd could be. So there was as a brief exchange and the ref walked away like it wasn't any kind of deal.
Hurley is a fk puke just like his brother. Hopefully Illinois can win on Saturday.

that shot was probably the 2nd biggest in the history of the tournament only trailing Villanova's 3 pointer to win the title at the buzzer
obviously the NC St Jimmy V tip-in is up there, but that was a dunk and those two were from 30 feet. Laettner shot was from the free throw line.
The difference between him and Calhoun is that Calhoun hated the refs, but also wasn't shy on weighing in on the some of the sports scribes. Hurley is much better with the press. I don't think Calhoun is in the building as much as when Hurley got there, but Hurley said when he first got there he was lamenting about the roster quality. Calhoun flat out told him he now wasn't sure that UCONN had hired the right guy and to quit bi**hing about it.
