Any of you ever been on one? Have been reading more about the tragedy near Branson. Sad.
Never heard of a duck boat until now.

Ya ride them as a kid. Usually they are open. But hear this one had screened windows

If I remember correctly originally used as landing vehicles during WWII....

Was actually on one at table Rock lake about 15 years ago... Was open.... And we all had to wear life jackets.

They are also used in Boston and Austin as well.

We have ridden those same ducks twice. We just got back from Branson a couple hours ago. What struck me was the emergency personnel said they expected to arrive & see people floating in life jackets, when they arrived & found life jackets floating without people they were devastated.

When I lived in Boston, we took them all the time when someone came to visit

Someone on tMB posted a video of the boat going down in the storm. It's absolutely horrifying.

they launched, it looks like, while the weather was bad. Looking at that video I wouldn't have been in any kind of boat. You have to keep an eye out on the weather and when it's staring you in the face you use better judgement. That crew put everyone in danger.
