Yeah it's really cool to see a former coach, whose son is still on the team, giving praise to the current staff. You don't see that everyday. Dubs will always be a husker in my book.

according to the article it sounds like he is taking a year off to enjoy his family & since he is getting paid this year why not. I doubt he remains unemployed after this year, he is too good of a coach. Does sound like he supplements his income with WR workouts with NFL WR's in the off season. Good for him.

Maybe I'm just a bit cynical, but he also needs a little more "time" to pass since his last DUI. That history is going to cause him some issues with future employment.

You guys do know that there is a fund set up by boosters for coaching buyouts, correct. BTW, at last count there is over
$34 million in it.

If I could take a year off to spend with my kids (or grand kids) dang straight I would. More power to the man.

No you wouldn't. They would drive you crazy in a week.

In the end it's only money. If the university was short on money due to these buyouts and it was effecting coaches we could bring in then I could see being a little annoyed they were taking lower-paying jobs. Or none at all.
