according to the article it sounds like he is taking a year off to enjoy his family & since he is getting paid this year why not. I doubt he remains unemployed after this year, he is too good of a coach. Does sound like he supplements his income with WR workouts with NFL WR's in the off season. Good for him.

I would have to imagine our receiving corp. is getting some off season workouts in with him. Shouldn't be any violations there. Should it?

Former NU coach not bitter because he's confident he has a future... there's a new one.

Gotta admit, when I read the thread title, I thought "Oh, did he buy you a drink or something?"

Maybe I'm just a bit cynical, but he also needs a little more "time" to pass since his last DUI. That history is going to cause him some issues with future employment.

You guys do know that there is a fund set up by boosters for coaching buyouts, correct. BTW, at last count there is over
$34 million in it.

If I could take a year off to spend with my kids (or grand kids) dang straight I would. More power to the man.

In the end it's only money. If the university was short on money due to these buyouts and it was effecting coaches we could bring in then I could see being a little annoyed they were taking lower-paying jobs. Or none at all.
