I'm pleased. Said this recently but they're in the same boat as us. Neither got a homerun hire. We were better last year and they were better this year but it isn't like one has been much better than the other and both fanbases aren't exactly thrilled with either coach. Year three is going to be massive for both programs.

I kinda wonder if Kelsey is gonna have to “put up or shut up” next year. He’s not exactly been impressive at Louisville. And they haven’t exactly been recruiting that great either.
I mean I just laughed when people kept saying “lousville hired a good one”. People said the same thing about Payne here. Never understood it. Louisville midget is mid and will always be mid. But they’re not elite, they’ll give him 7 with how decent he’s done by their modern standards.

Problem is I’m pretty sure he’ll be able to beat Pope routinely.

No he won’t lol. Only reason they won this year was the game happened the 2nd week of the season, and even then they almost blew it

Today makes 20 losses in two seasons, it’s not terrible and not good but Louisville has played in a much easier conference. With all these guys, it’s gonna be about recruiting and roster construction and I hope he fails miserably.

Yeah, he’s 51-19……29-9 in conference. It’s Louisville for crying out loud. What do they expect?
I don’t think posting the record tells the whole story. Kelsey’s first year was a big success even though they lost a lot of games. This year, they were very good (but not elite) before injuries derailed them. No reasonable Louisville fan would want Kelsey gone. He’s doing a good job there.

The midget’s tenure has been quite the failure based on their fans expectations. Wonder how hot his seat is?

How many of them you reckon there are? I've never seen one.

The difference is Pope recruited with the intention of guys staying multiple years this past offseason. We’ll have a solid core return. Pat went all in with guys on their last year of eligibility again. Wooley, Rooths, and Zougris are their only likely returners and none of them are any good
Do we want a core of these guys back? I don’t.

I went over to their forum to get a good laugh and they all seem to be accepting mediocrity, known as PK. According to them, he’s not even on the hot seat. They’re happy. My oh my, how far expectations have fallen for them. Their ultimate goal is a sweet 16. 🤣🤣🤣 Poor little bros are just use to wallowing in misery, I reckon.

That leaves Kentucky as the last team standing in the state. Murray St lost to Nevada in the NIT.

Tomorrow is do or die or basketball season in the Commonwealth.

Glad UofL is out but it does show how pathetic the quality of our programs have become lately.

We need to beat ISU. Badly..

Wooley was another example of needing to hit in the portal. He was highly rated and turned out to not be great. Same with McNeely. Guy can’t guard anyone and when he’s not shooting his a liability.

Lmao this kinda thinking is wild. I do NOT want a new damn team every year. You absolutely have to have continuity and experience. Players do improve, you know.

The only one I didn’t wanna bring back was BG. However, his play as of late has changed my mind. I think he can be really good for us, especially as a senior that’s been in the program for two years already. Dude is athletic as hell for a big and can guard all 5 positions. Those guys don’t grow on trees. Hard to find.

IMHO, bring all of them back AND at 2/3 elite guys. An elite PG, stretch PF and C. A PG that can shoot and distribute. A PF that can shoot (all 3 levels), slash a little and defend at a high level. Then a C that has a post presence, block shots and rebound. That’s my take anyway.

You cannot run this team back especially without the two best players Aberdeen and Oweh. We had 13 losses, didn’t make it to the weekend of the sec tournament, and barely squeaked by a 10 seed.

I’d like to have Moreno, BG, Kam, Lowe, and Mo D back and see what Hawthorne can do with a year of prep. Bring in another stud PG for Aberdeen/ a superstar to replace Oweh/ an NBA big man so Mo D can play PF, and some more shooting on the wing and SG.
