First southern school to offer after he mistakenly ventured north out of high school

I, for one, am shocked

And I also unfortunately think he will be missed

Gotta wonder when Kentucky decided to tamper with Dowdell....before or after we got their WR coach....

Kentucky is in the SEC, but Lexington is far from being in the south. He'll find out next winter.

Perhaps he is just dumb. Never met him so I couldn’t say, but it seems like a good explanation
Why does it seem like a good explanation? Kentucky can get very cold in the winter. Snow, ice, wind … the whole winter thing. Seems ludicrous therefore to say that Dowdell is transferring to a warm weather school. Because he isn’t. And to just dismiss this fact by saying “maybe he is just dumb” is itself rather dumb. You are claiming the kid might be stupid just so you can salvage the stupid cold weather argument, which, by the way, has zero supporting evidence.

If you watched Rhule’s press conference yesterday, and believe what he was saying, Dowdell left for one primary reason - more money.

True dat. I lived in Knoxville for a brief time, which is just a bit south of Lexington, and it wasn’t exactly Florida weather there.

Missed? Not really
Dowdell is much better when the QB takes the snap from under center and he can have a full head of steam coming to the line. If Dana scraps the under center stuff (I hope not), Dowdell really just becomes an average back since his weaknesses become more of an issue.

We need more under center not less

I think he's only an average back regardless of what system he plays in.

Can someone quote what Dowdell said in regards to cold weather here?

Not what someone UP HERE claimed he said, but what he actually said?

I can't find it.
