Each is listed as 6’9” 205lbs. I know Pike wants to redshirt them, but this is the season every potential asset of value has to be utilized. Maybe one of them could help with rebounding in spot minutes. Or at the least provide extra fouls to protect our primary bigs. All the chips we have must be pushed to the center of the table.

I'd say Grant is closer to 6'7" or 6'8", and Dortch looks to be closer to 6'10" (he appears taller than Bailey).

Dortch is the skinniest guy on the team, and cannot play the 5. Grant has apparently shown some skills with rebounding and defense in practice, but does anyone REALLY think if he showed better than Martini, Sommerville or Ogbole ... or Hayes, that Pikiell would NOT play him? Obviously a decision has been made to date that Grant is not ready (he did get a couple of minutes versus Wagner - and got a couple of rebounds and missed 2 3-pointers from the corner).

You just cannot play 11 or 12 in the rotation - even 10 is a stretch. Who would Grant play ahead of? I could see a scenario where Grant gets a few minutes: A frontcourt injury, or really severe foul trouble (would you burn his redshirt for a single game foul trouble issue?).

If he played vs Wagner isn’t it already burned?

The three missed 3 pointers near the end of the game by Grant and Davis were taken by the wrong players.I would have preferred that Bailey took those shots but I noticed he might be playing with some pain running up court after a missed shot.

I guess the OP was prescient in starting this thread. Grant played significant minutes and did not seem overwhelmed by the opportunity. Martini is trash and I can foresee his minutes going to Grant

Grant playing well today!

I’ll be honest - I only noticed him getting abused on the offensive end - ie, i only noticed him getting blocked on all three layup attempts.

Honest question (as I didn’t notice) - did he do other things well eg, defense, rebounding, etc?

Grant played close to 20 minutes and couldn’t score. Needs a year probably. Eat weights for 12 months kid.
