Don't sleep at Temple

Yea, I've been told that several times in my youth not to sleep at Temple. 😁 I'd be bilingual if I heeded that advice.

In regards to Temple Univ Basketball, they are beating #16 Villanova 31-18 with 4 min left in first half. Villanova will likely win this game. But Temple is better than what they showed with Wagner.

Care to explain how Temple lost their first game?
Nova isn't the same team as the one under Jay Wright. Nova is going the way of the rest of the Big East, average with some solid teams. Nothing special like Jay Wright's Nova teams.

It’s not an indictment or a dig at Rutgers to say Temple will be a tough game Cub.
I have no doubt they’ll be a tough game

As we well know those first couple “unattractive” home games in front of sleepy home crowds can be tricky. I think that’s what happened against Wagner. In front of a “raucous” home crowd Temple looks solid (only watching during Zags-MSU commercials to be honest). Battle and Dunn are legit.

You can't read too much into this game, Temple is coming off an OT loss to Wagner so they were going to play better vs Nova. Nova took a hit with Jay Wright's retirement and Kyle Neptune as their head coach is a couple steps down from where they were. They have to beat Vandy, I don't want them coming into our game 0-3.

the sleeping this is starting to "jump the shark" Like that guy doing those stupid hand gestures in the past and getting tired.

Always good when Nova loses and that ought to ensure that we won't take Temple lightly in any way (not that I think we would've). I grew up on Big Five basketball and Temple was my favorite of those teams for reasons I can't really recall.

They have zero highlights on YouTube of the temple Nova game. Never seen an upset like that not have highlights

No, Nova is overrated. Temple is a solid team, but let's not make them out to be world-beaters because they beat Nova. This is a typical response from fans when they see the results, but don't take into account all of the factors. Jay Wright isn't walking the sidelines and that makes a difference. Nova's current coach is several steps down.

Nova without Wright is a one and done, maybe Round of 32 team at best. Big East is going to finally go the way of disco and the dodo bird...extinct.

With Nova possibly going downhill, Syracuse being meh, St. Johns being meh and St. Joes, Temple and BC already near the bottom, now is the best time for Rutgers to own the Northeast. Scarlet Knights gotta take the reigns and REIGN!! And RAIN!

It was amazing watching a Nova game where they didn't get all those open three point looks. Became street ball.

How bad is nova's point guard? 4 v 5 on offense and not exactly locking guys up on other side.

The 2 guards for Temple look good...we should DOMINATE them inside--just go to Cliff all day long and will open up our entire offense.

1. Almost anything can happen in a city rivalry game.
2. Temple will be better in their conference than many people think. Getting Battle back was huge.
3. Nova just isn't all that with both Whitmore and Moore out.
