That Texas Defense gave up 672 yds of offense today. I think the previous coordinator who got demoted wasn't the entire problem. That's Joe Deforrst type #s.

Tom Hernan is sitting on a lottery ticket provided Houston doesn't fall apart totally. Rumor was Texas was willing to pay Saban a contract worth $100 million total (according to Paul Finebaum) near 3 seasons back. I am betting this time their top target will bite on it. Heck it may be Saban again this time. Houstons loss has an impact.

Hard to believe a strong lead team could have a D this bad, especially with all that Texas talent. It would not surprise me if he gets fired this week

They said last week Strong would be evaluated at seasons end. Idk. He has changed 8 of his coaches in under 3 seasons and is not winning.

You know that Jimmy Sexton is working the system AGAIN to get Saban and a few other clients (Fisher, Hermin, etc) raises AGAIN by having their current employers bid against themselves with just the threat of Texas. This was mastered in baseball by super agent Scott Boras, especially with at least 2 ARod contracts.

There is no point in firing a coach at this juncture of the season unless you believe the successor is on the staff or the HC did something off the field that warranted immediate dismissal. No current HC is interviewing right now, and the AD can do whatever he wants with a HC who isn't currently coaching. Texas would be best served in letting Strong finish out the year even if they make it known towards the end of the year they will be in the market for a new HC

I don't see the point in firing a coach in the middle of the season unless there is a coordinator on the staff you are willing to take a look at.

The only concern I have about Texas is the likely possibility that his team starts really putting it together when we play them.

Know what I mean?

There was a report last week that an "inside" source said Strong wouldn't be fired until the end of the season because no one on the staff was capable of handling the head coaching job.

It will be pretty hard for Texas to turn it around on their sloppy defense. Their offense, well they have one.

I wonder if the can out bid LSU for Tom Herman. But then again Herman is only in his 2nd year as a head coach.

Just wait until we play them. You'll see.
