Does Briscoe hurt the offense?

There are times when Briscoe forces things, but there are many more times when he makes a great play and gets a tough bucket when the team needs it.
But I get what you're saying though, I do think he puts himself on his own island sometimes and gets outside the identity of the team. But I think he just needs some time to adjust to this team.

OP might be trolling but I actually agree that our offense looks better without Briscoe.

However, Isaiah brings toughness, leadership and last but not least, defensive ability.

I don't buy this logic. Cal has been starting Hawkins with Briscoe out. Briscoe does everything better than Hawkins....and no one has talked about how "Hawkins has hurt the offense" with his lack of shooting ability and overall offensive ability the past 2 games.

well, he DID have 9 assists last game, and only one turnover (IIRC?)

In answer to your question, OP, Briscoe's season averages this year are as follows:
mpg - 28.8
ppg - 18
fg % - 52%
ft % - 77%
3pt % - 14%
Reb: 3.3
Asst: 2.5
T/O: 1.9

On the 3pt percentage: he's only attempted 7 shots, making one. but otherwise, nothing here states he hurts the offense, IMO. His FTs have improved immensely, and he's making over half of everything inside the arc.
Since he normally plays off guard, with pg work coming in spots - the 2.5 assists are perfectly fine.

I was thinking the same thing. Cats looks much quicker and MUCH more dangerous on offense since he's been out. He just not a good shooter, and it'll come back to bite us in a couple of games this year.

Check your stats before declaring Hawkins better then Briscoe? And some on here think UK fans are intelligent about their basketball. Wrong.

Thats because the team is learning to play together and Monk couldn't buy a jumper the first couple games. When Monk is pulling up all over the court and shooting 50%+ it's going to make the team look better.

No.

He spaces the floor bc he can get to the rim.

And two, DEFENSE. We are a transition team, he is a huge part of it.

He generates offense with his defense.
His ability to score in the open the open court is remarkable and one would think, obvious.
His ability to break people down off the dribble helps UK as opposed to hurting UK.

Briscoe is a tremendous player, and I haven't done the math on it, but I agree that solely on the metric of a quick eye test, the half court offense appears to share the ball better and run more fluid sets.

We all clear on that?

1. Eye test
2. In half-court sets
3. Offense
4. Appears
5. To share the ball better

That is ALL I'm saying.

So you think Hawkins play is better then Briscoe? You might want to watch the games more closely.
Where did I say anything about Hawkins? Read next time.

I said I like the offense more without Briscoe however he more than makes up for it in other areas. Just my opinion.

I wouldn't say "hurt". I don't think that's the right word. Especially now that he's not so much a liability out there with the improve free throws and shooting in general.

That being said, FWIW he does have the lowest offensive rating out of all of the starters thus far.

perhaps so.....
but also consider (and I'm sure you have, you're a level headed person) The other team doesn't score as much when he's out there ;)

What kind of stupid *** question is this. I'm going to go ahead and call bs on this stupid *** thread. Briscoe is an important part of this team and was our leading scorer. If you really buy into what the dinosaur is saying you're just as dumb. Please don't feed the trolls.
