I used to love NBA All-Star weekend when I was a kid in the 1980s. Before 30-40% of all shots in NBA games were 3 pointers, the 3 Point Contest was fun to watch as it was a unique talent on display. The Dunk contest was creative and the games biggest stars participated. Even the all-star games were competitive as it appeared that players took pride in winning. Now, non of that applies and I don't waste a moment watching any of it. Does anyone care about NBA All-Star weekend?

I don’t care about the NBA so...lol

We were at a special Olympics tournament yesterday with our players, and in between games, we were trying to figure out where former Kentucky guys played.

We only could figure out Wall, Cousins, KAT and Booker.

HOW TO FIX THE DUNK CONTEST:

pick the 5 hardest dunks to perform and make each player try the same dunk. Rate them on who completes the dunk best... DONE. If you can't complete the dunk your eliminated. Low score is also eliminated. Way more fun watching a game of HORSE using dunks that what we have now.
It allows us to see who can do the dunk the best. You will see guys adding tweaks to the dunk to stand out.

We like to watch former cats. My son follows the NBA, but I mostly want to know how former cats are doing. I don't care want team they are on. That being said, we watch very few games, but check the stats and highlights.

Yes. It's marketed almost completely to younger people now (college aged and down). It's basically a giant club format predicated on urbanized consumerism that seeks to capitalize on the new male diva mumble-rapping, tight-pants wearing urban culture.

I didn’t know this was all star weekend until I heard HD won the dunk contest. Honestly bummed in a way that I no longer have interest in the NBA. Use to really like it but not so much the last 20 years.

All of the players make too much money to care about anything other than not getting hurt. They also are soooo good that if defense is not played, it becomes an exercise in “you score and then I score”.
I guess if you’re a fan of a specific player, it could be fun to watch him showcase his skills.
Otherwise meh.

Not interested,,I do know that which ever team James Hardin is on, the others players can forget about touching the ball when he is on the court. He is gonna get his 25-30 shots no matter what.

IDK.. I enjoy it. Better than the other all-star weekends. Dunk contest has gotten better in recent years, enjoy the celeb game and the skills contest.

Harden* and hes constantly roaming around the top3-5 in assists per game, yet he's got NO ONE else on that team. Westbrook has PG13, Lowry has Kawhi, Simmons has Embiid and Butler, and Curry has more talent than anyone to work with.. speaking of Curry, he's 27th in APG.

Harden has an injured Capela and CP3 and then Eric Gordon.

Kinda feel bad for him. Puts up with an otherwise crappy team, worked to turn around his defense, puts the team on his back for 3 years now.. and doesn't say a word.

The biggest difference for me is that growing up in the 80’s, you didn’t have a ton of NBA games on TV so this was an opportunity to see guys play that you never saw. That’s just not the case anymore.

As for the dunk contest, I think it would be cool to have 1 person in the dunk contest that doesn’t play professional basketball. They could easily find someone on YouTube.

Used to be an NBA junkie as a kid but now, not at all. Well, I do check now and then on our UK guys, but pay no real attention to the NBA

Not really anymore. Miss the events on Saturday nights because I won't miss Kentucky games for it. If not for that, I'd definitely had watched our guys Fox, Hami and Booker compete. By the time I can watch a recording, it's been talked about online and shown all over the place so really no point than to just catch highlights. There's nothing better to do though than watch the All-Star game on Sunday nights once the Daytona 500 ends.

The last time I watched NBA games Bird, Magic and Jordan were playing and it was a better game then. I don't care anything about it now and don't watch, college sports are more fun to watch and the coach still has the power.

I don’t really care about the NBA anymore. And I haven’t cared how former UK players do in the league for quite some time.

I followed Mashburn with Dallas for a bit but that was it.

So, no, I don’t care about all-star weekend.

And Jordan is the goat

That is the dumbest idea I have ever heard for the dunk contest.
