Wow, how sad for Josh and his entire family. Can’t imagine losing a parent at that age. Prayers for the Dix family.

That sucks. One of my favorite Hawks ever. No ego, great teammate and I'm sure his coaches loved him.
I forgot that he played the day she died... it was a cancer awareness game.
Lost my mom when I was 21, it's rough. I feel bad for Josh 
Prayers for Josh and his family. My mom had cancer when I was a student at Iowa, and it did suck being across the state. She got through that battle and didn't pass away until five years after I graduated from there so still had more time thankfully. I'm glad Josh got to be closer to her this year. Still wish he was a Hawk, but there are more important things than basketball.

On the morning of Wed Feb 4 Josh's mother, Kelly, passed away after a long battle with cancer.
After learning the news, Creighton was prepared to fly Josh home from Washington, DC. He insisted on playing that night vs Georgetown.

Listen to what Fran said. Cancer does suck and if you have a history of colon cancer get checked out early and often. Getting a colonoscopy is inconvenient but the possible implications of not getting one are much worse.
I know someone who had stage 4 colon cancer & somehow survived. He went thru hell; radiation, chemo and surgery (he also lost 25%, which is 18 inches, of his large intestine).
As a sufferer of ulcerative colitis since age 28, that is not fun. And just some facts about the large intestine (which is actually shorter than small intestine (which can be up to 20 feet long) but is referred to as 'large' due to its wider diameter (about 3 inches).
Adult large intestines are actually around 5 feet long.
