The BIG is a long grinding season. There are no easy games. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think tOSU was near the bottom and riding a 5 game losing streak. Getting beat is one thing, but getting drubbed is mind boggling. In a long season, there will be peaks and valleys. Who are the leaders on the team? How do you prepare yourself, mentally to be ready to play? Are the coaches at fault? Can someone provide some insight or thoughts on this? Thanks in advance....Once a Hawk, always a Hawk.

The Hawks came out of the gate after the initial 3 turns by both teams and grabbed a decent lead. I thought the guys in general were working hard. The game turned pretty physical and that suited the thick bodies of OSU. I was generally okay with the effort, but Kris had more then a few defensive lapses. He did have a tough match up and fouls may have effected him.

The Hawks got pounded in the paint, but where did you see the lack of effort? OSU ended the game on a good run, but I thought the game was closer then the score.

Just my opinion.

Well, if you didn't see a lack of effort against OSU then the only remaining explanation is lack of athleticism. The defense was bad. OSU got what they wanted from 3 and off the bounce the entire game. Sensabaugh is a stud so I can live with his career high but Isaac Likele going off for 18 and 10 after not showing anything remotely close to this in all his prior games says something about Iowa's D.

Offensively it looked like the TCU and Duke games with Iowa players afraid to dribble due to intense ball pressure and physical defense. Kris was the only player capable of getting past his defender and finishing.

Iowas D has been better this year, at times. On the whole still far too many lapses where you see guys looking at each other so I expect miscommunication.
Iowa just doesn't have the players that will be able to ha g in a full physical game where the zebras let so much go for the whole game.
It's so damn disgusting you watch them let people bang all over the place and randomly they pull their head out and make a call on a play that has happened 20 times already in the game with no whistle.
Most games the zebras will even up the calls and get things under control but that never happen for Iowa in this one. We completely lost Tony again and they beat PS enough that he was short shooting and shying away a bit.
