Easy to be generous once you're dead. In fact I am not sure the term "generosity" applies here, since you can't take it with you. Whatever he bequeathed to his former players didn't get bequeathed to somebody else. Zero sum game.

Not saying what he did is good, bad, or indifferent. Just saying that, contrary to what some in the media are suggesting, it doesn't make him a hero.

Looks like it was only letter winners who played UNDER him. Given he stopped coaching 15 years ago, there are no possible NCAA infractions with current players, not that UNC would care.
