Switched to 10 min quarters in the 2nd. First time I’ve ever heard of it. Makes sense. They got their check, we got our win, and I don’t think anyone got seriously hurt.

I’ve never seen it before. But it makes sense. Man, that 2nd half went quick. Only downside is less work for your backups. But really, not sure how engaged they’d be with a full 2nd half anyway.

They were all cancelled from what I heard. Pretty crazy b/c a lot of people jumped on that line when it came out. Vegas dodged a bullet.

I didn't keep up closely but I recall folks here saying it started low 20s and went to the 40s. I could see Vegas having an unbalanced position there with that much movement that fast. I'll wear my tin foil hat on this one.

According to my Google search, it's not even all that uncommon. It happened five times last season, twice in the SEC. The Arkansas-Arkansas Pine Bluff game and Auburn-Alabama A&M game both had 10-minute third and fourth quarters. The most extreme shortening of a game last season was Stephen F. Austin vs. North American, in which they played a 5-minute third and fourth quarter because SFA led 70-0 at halftime.

Ole Miss has requested 20 minute quarters in the second half it they are winning by 40 or more.

I know Auburn's done it a few times. They keep the clock running, too.
