Nibble …with good balanxeHe looks really nimble for a giant strong 5
We can't rebound with that team that was part of the 21 offensive rebounds for RiderThink it was mentioned that if Fall wasn't trusted by staff to stay on court for more than couple minutes; and they went with Buchanan & Dortch for a stretch to play at 4 & 5 (think Buchanan was playing 5) - than Ware may be pressed into more playing time. So will be interested in the next OOC games how much time he receives.

He might have been taken out because as the box score illustrates he was doing nothing out on the court. Why not trusted?

I don’t think that was an experiment with the big man traps. He’s been doing that for years. It probably does weaken our rebounding a bit.He was really bad. That was my only negative take away from the game. Fall did not look like he’s going to be playable in his 4 minutes of action. It was only one game, of course, but he looked completely lost.
On the other hand, Ogbole looked fine provided offense is coming from other sources (which of course is a big question mark against better competition), but vs a midmajor opponent Ogbole was servicable enough not to hurt us. He also avoided foul trouble, which was a good sign (again, only one game). The offensive rebounds given up when he was in the game don’t tell the whole story. Pike was experimenting with using his Big for perimeter traps. Rider got a ton of second chances off of bad forced shots in that situation. Hopefully Pike has some film on that to work on which was the likely goal. But regardless, Big O isn’t facing the basket in those schemes and he’s all the way out on the perimeter. Those aren’t going to be his responsibility.
The only thing I didn't like about Ogbole, forget the offense, is I think we will still get exposed on the pick and roll especially in the BIGHe was really bad. Let me clarify. By experiment I did not mean try out a brand new scheme. I meant experiment a scheme we’ve used in the past with our new personnel.I don’t think that was an experiment with the big man traps. He’s been doing that for years. It probably does weaken our rebounding a bit.
Maybe - but we weren’t really running D to prevent it in that game either. Not a whole lot to take away really from the first game on that. The only thing I didn't like about Ogbole, forget the offense, is I think we will still get exposed on the pick and roll especially in the BIG
Yea...What a shame about Fall, I’d think the way market was Fall probably cost us a majority of our NIL. We really needed to hire a GM who will challenge Pike on his talent eval and where we’re spending limited resources, I fear this GM will just be a yes man.
He's a bit on the shorter side unfortunately, similar build to Lathan Sommerville last year and needs to get in better shape. As for his game? He needs to work a ton of the offensive side of the ball and his defense is meh, lack of height will hurt him against bigger centers. He's a work in progress. He looks really nimble for a giant strong 5
Just to clarify, the GM they hired isn't there for talent evaluations. He's there to handle contracts, and help raise more money. What a shame about Fall, I’d think the way market was Fall probably cost us a majority of our NIL. Richie correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t that the role of GM at most schools. I can’t imagine many coaches deferring talent evaluation and player selectionJust to clarify, the GM they hired isn't there for talent evaluations. He's there to handle contracts, and help raise more money.
1) we had a very small NIL by major conference standards but we’re beating a dead horse with thatWhat a shame about Fall, I’d think the way market was Fall probably cost us a majority of our NIL.
