Is Pike pursuing him? I mean that guy can ball, has history with Pike, and is from CT. I'm sure he will get huge $$$, but UNC and FLA are no longer in the running. Anyone???

I thought the Tweets are saying it’s a bidding war between Duke and a couple other blue bloods? I’d be thrilled but seems highly unlikely.

There was a quote a while ago from him saying he wants to play alongside another high profile guard and compete for a championship. That doesn’t exactly put Rutgers near the top of the list.

Yeah. He is out of our price range and a powerful example of how some programs will over pay for a guy who'd sit on their bench instead of starting at a lesser program. I bet he ends up at Kentucky.

Aren't we out of money?

If that was true, and we’re now “done”, I really don’t think Pike would’ve taken Francis. He’s going to have to answer to a lot of that’s the case. It would mean Francis had to get a huge bag. If not, we should have money left for one more real player.

I thought I saw a Tweet that UK is out. Not them.

Maybe he’s not out of our range. We supposedly had between $4 and $5. That’s a huge range. We couldn’t have spent more that $2M on the returnees and frosh combined. And Buchanan, Zrno, Fall and Francis probably didn’t total more than another $2M. That could mean we have $1M and change left if we actually have $5M.

don’t know for sure that we don’t have $1M left.

You nor anyone else has any idea how much we had to spend on frosh & returnees, nor how much Buchanan or anyone else cost. No way to know if we have money left until we are done in the portal, mindless speculation can start untrue rumors like last year about Sommerville not allowing Pike to recruit another big, which became urban fact on message boards

Hello!! We can promise him Option 1. Hope Pike can get this done.
In all seriousness - he’s probably $2M+ if the Florida kid would be $7M. No?

There’d be no reason for him to leave USC for Rutgers unless he just really wants to come back here. We can only hope.

Why’s this even a thread? We have not even close to the $$$ needed to get a guy like this whom I don’t even think is worth the $$$ he’s asking for or the role he’s demanding

“In his next school, sources said, Claude is looking for a proven backcourt mate to share playmaking & a team built for a deep run.”

I would say he’s out.

We ARE built for a deep run....

... in the CBI Tournament.
Until the season starts, RU is a lock to make the Big Dance and possibly win the B1G Tourney along with undisputed regular season conference championship.
After first game then everything turns into a definite maybe.
As season progresses, then we'll see how good or bad the team looks and chances of regular season and post season success to look forward to or be disjointed about .
Right now failure isn't an option when hoping Pike can make this program something to be proud of in the 2025-26 season and the cbi isn't a goal to be proud of when hoping Rutgers MBB will be a winner this year

Pessimism has set in for many RUMBB fans because of past failures , I still have an optimistic feeling about how RU will do and maybe without 2 superstars on roster the team will have to rely on each other , every game, to get the win instead of looking for one or both of the freshman superstars to get the win on their own

Maybe if we get one more decent player. We’re not going to have enough with the 12 we have to be competitive unless 2 of the frosh are day one stars.

Claude is running out of options and may have overplayed his hand a bit.....teams with players returning to school instead of staying in the NBA draft, now are out of the running for Claude......Bama was supposedly the most recent option, but they've spent their money on other players.
