Wish your time here could have ended better. Kid was unselfish, tough and played his butt off. Really unfortunate that Pope didn't have a backup option to Lowe and that Lowe didn't stay healthy. DA stepped up at the point, but he would have been great on the wing. Chandler would have likely put the same numbers up as a 6th man. Proud to have you as a Wildcat

Wonder how good he would have been had Oweh gone to the NBA. Healthy Lowe, DA, and Chandler instead of Oweh I think is a better back court.
I think Lowe, DA and Oweh with Chandler as the sub would have been great. DA could have played 10 minutes of PG to allow Lowe to play 30 minutes, given DA and Oweh 10 minutes off each, all four guys playing 30 minutes

Yeah on paper it's a hell of a backcourt, but I just don't know how well Oweh and Lowe would have meshed. I think Lowe is less of a ball hog than Oweh so I think ball movement would have been much better. Well never know though.

Fans would be bashing him for trying to do too much even though clearly the talent on the court is lacking. Unless Oweh was replaced by a great number 1 option which I doubt .

I loved DA’s effort and attitude after he took over the point. He was my favorite player on this year’s squad. That being said, our offense needs tremendous upgrades in both the front- and backcourt.

Should've stayed at UF. He's exactly what they were missing. 🤷‍♂️

Being forced to run the point didn't hurt him from a pro perspective.
If he lands on someone's summer league team, I'm sure they will want him to run the point.
He has the size and scoring ability to make a roster if he keeps improving.

DA was an overpay in the offseason that saved Pope’s bacon. This season goes completely off the rails if not for Aberdeen’s ability to take control of the ship after that first week or so of SEC play.

I liked him personally. Seemed like a good dude, teammate, and played solid.

People don’t believe this but it is possible. The team was stifled in a lot of ways by Oweh. Catch 22, he’s a baller when he’s on, but the team ain’t progressing offensively when he’s pulling up before the offense gets going, whatever issues he had with the team and whatever that did, and his meme ball. Half way on you had to have him, but there wasn’t much of a choice when he determined it’s his ball.

His year at UK
13.5 pts doubled his avg from last year
43%FG
36%s3pt (improved from last year)
80%FT
3.4ass vs. 1.3 TO.....pretty dang respectable from a guy who was thrust into this PG role
I thought his defense was pretty solid on ball....the screen defense was a team failure and is really why Pope stinks...he can't coach defensive identity

but all in all....Denzel was a heckuva player and we'll be hard pressed to replace him (And if the plan is plug Lowe non shooting crap at PG....we'll ben worse in the backcourt w/o Denzel.

To my view, any team with Chandler playing 30 minutes is not a high-level team. He is a 10-15 minute role player on any team that receives a 1 or 2 seed.

We disagree there. I think he will be a very good player next season and a great SR player. I think the problem this year was he was SUPPOSED to come off the bench with Lowe, DA and Oweh starting, but was thrust into a starting role, and with our best scorer forced to run the point, he was forced to try and be a star for us. He wasn't ready for that, but he certainly had moments. Look at his career arc vs Richie Saunders. Some people say, well, Saunders can do this and that that Chandler can't do yet, the answer is yes, but if Saunders could have done all those things as a Soph, he wouldn't have had the exact same numbers Chandler put up as a Soph, he would have scored just like he does now

Chandler is not starting material at an SEC level school. He does not have the quickness to defend people or get by them. He shoud be 2nd string at best.

I'm sorry, but thats a joke. He was a Soph this year and was the best player on the court for either team in multiple SEC games

Being the best player on a bad team doesn't make you a good player. The one-eyed man is king in the land of the blind.

He has been the best player on the court for EITHER team in multiple SEC games.
And the season is over. Are you saying he won't be a starting caliber player NEXT season or the season after? Because that is all time absurd. He will likely be all conference next year, definitely as a SR. And stop for a second and consider Travis Perry and his 5/1/1 statline started over half the games for Ole Miss this season....

Chandler’s handle is so shaky for a college guard and he’s older than most seniors at this point. All you have to do is apply a little ball pressure and he is completely neutered.

He’s not a major piece on a contender.
I'm shocked that so many people can't see it.
