Looks like he can make people miss in tight spaces.

"Shocked" by the offer? Hopefully in a good way. He hasn't been committed for a month even, so maybe there is time to flip him.

At this point you have a limited amount of time to get a kid to visit, but if that visit happens then you have a legit shot this late in the game. Only way to flip someone now is to blow their doors off on their official.

Gotta throw everything we have into getting kids like this to visit.

Dubs covered in an earlier thread. Extras are allowed as a result of the coaching change, but I never saw the actual number.

WR's galore. Ready for some linemen.
Yep. Frost will understand soon enough. All the skilled WRs and fancy QBs won't mea n **** if the O Line sucks. B10 is all about trench warfare, always has been. You have to win the LOS in this league.

Yea he is just clueless, doesn’t know how to win football games. I’m sure he didn’t look at roster numbers or anything, just thinks he can recruit nothing but WR because football is different in Oregon and Florida than in the mighty Big Ten.

Don't know if serious?
Hope it was sarcasm and I missed it. So sick of this got to recruit more linemen, got to be like everyone else in the B1G nonsense. Our roster is woefully short on WR and DB’s and then we ***** about trying to recruit them. These will be the same people complaining about playing uptempo, using the shotgun and not running the full back. Let the guy fix the roster and support him.

I’m pretty sure Frost understands now. Maybe he likes the potential we have on the OLine, who knows? He will win the LOS, and it may not be with road graders.

Just my opinion...

Guess what? You have to win the LOS in any P5 league and beyond. To imply that Frost does not understand this is beyond hysterical. It is abject nonsense. Did you forget the team Frost played for in 96-97? The coach he played for? The program he played for? You think he has just magically forgotten the importance of a physical offensive line? Good grief.

Maybe Frost has looked at our roster and thinks we already have decent talent on the line. Just poorly coached.

Isn’t it kinda funny that now two completely different coaching staffs have had this exact roster and both have tried loading up on WRs and DBs.. and there is still people on this board that question if we need them. It’s honestly laugh out loud funny how people who constantly follow this team can’t grasp the concept of roster management.

Also funny that these two positions of need where coached by our “best recruiters” on the previous staff. Hmmm Smokin

Good points. People also need to remember that SF might be informed on what Stanley Morgan is planning to do. We already need WRs badly but will be up ****'s creek if he declares. SF might also not be all that confident that the guys we have signed will qualify.
Roster management is one thing, but insurance policies are another.

There is some good talent there, no doubt about that. There is insufficient depth. Plus, there will be 5 or 6 OL graduating next year making this year's OL recruiting class a high priority, especially at OT. As of right now, only 1 OL is signed - OG Farniok.

1. You do not address my criticism of your implied accusation that Frost does not understand the importance of a good offensive line.
2. Yes, we need more offensive lineman since a good number will graduate next year.
3. But THIS year, WR and DB is a huge area of CURRENT need.
4. Frost is still working on getting offensive line recruits, especially at tackle, here for this year.
5. Still trying to figure out, therefore, why you seem to think Frost has some "learning" to do in this area. Lol

There is a lot of talents in the OL. It was just very bad coaching from Cav. He has to be the worst ever OL coach in the power 5 league.Several of those OL were 4 stars when they were recruited. Gates, Jones and Farmer were all 4 stars.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm thinking as well. To run Frosts system, you have to have good O-line play, so I highly doubt he's overlooking the offensive line. The reason he's not recruiting more on OL is because he's looked over the roster and sees we have the numbers and likes the talent as well. He realizes the problems the OL has had is mostly coaching related.

Can't run a full back when not one on the field. Dead breed unless you play at Iowa

Stop playing big ten football. Didn't Frost say "we're going make the big 10 adjust" and i feel confident that can happen

You have to have good line play regardless of what system you run. Frosts system doesnt require any better play than the next.

By my count, I believe we have 21 visits left yet. We get 56 per season, plus we can carry over as many as 6 unused from the prior season(we used only 50 visits last year). So, 62 visits minus the 41 already used. I used the visit list from this website, so if I am off, it is can't be because of my bad math. :D

The only time that extra visits are allowed are if the prior staff used up more than 75%(?) of their official visits for the season. NU will not get any extra visits as the prior staff had not used up more than 75% of their allotted visits when Frost was hired. Looks like they used 27 of them.

I figure that NU will take about 8 or 9 more commits, if they are the right people. We have a shot with 2 guys who visited previously(Cam Jones and Tommy Bush). So, with 21 visits, we need to close on 6-8 of them. They closed on 8 of the 13 they hosted in December(9 out of 14 if you count Wildeman).
