Adams not leaving?
A West Virginia source refuted Saturday’s report by Jason Higdon of Scout.com that cornerbacks coach Blue Adams is leaving after one season to join Charlie Strong’s staff at South Florida.

“He is not,” the source said.

Last season Adams mentored Rasul Douglas into a second-team AP All-American. That followed four seasons as a defensive back assistant with the Miami Dolphins.

A story in WV Metro News now refutes that Adams is leaving quoting a "West Virginia source."

Now you can double down on the "refutes."

I don't understand why a coach in the Big XII would leave for a AAC team unless he has a crush on their head coach and a far better monitary deal. I just don't get it! Pay the man if you want to keep him or fire him.Erosion of coaches is both good and bad. We develop good coaches and they are hired away or they hate our process and want to leave. The jury is out on that one. Yet, we have coaches wanting to return, so I'm going with the first option.

Keep in mind he just lost his son in the last year and getting back to Florida was a priority for him.

Why do posters insinuate negativity when coaches move on? Schools like Ohio State and FSU lose coaches. Assistant coaches move on every so often because they want to advance their careers. Happens everywhere and doesn't reflect negatively on WVU--in fact the knowledge others want WVU coaches is a major plus in regards to what WVU Is doing.

It's a little understanding this year if you're just a common fan that doesn't really care to learn what is going on with each coach. You have one guy going to Cincy and one to USF, not exactly what you want to see. But when you look a little deeper you learn that one was sharing his OL role and the other has family reasons for leaving.

If coaches don't stay forever with Nick Saban at Alabama, why would anyone expect them to never leave WVU? Doesn't make sense to me.

He had family reasons for leaving? So it's WVU'S fault for what happened?

I'm sorry but WVU gave him his opportunity and I can say with confidence that WVU was there for him with whatever he was going through and to show his appreciation he leaves for another job.

If he didn't want to leave Florida he should stayed in the NFL with the Dolphins. But hey at least he got to shine up his resume with a potential first round draft pick and fatten up his wallet with a few hundred thousand dollars on WVU'S dime.

Good for him??

If there's an occasion to give someone the benefit of the doubt, it's when a parent has lost a child. And that's putting it lightly. I would say that's the worse thing a person can go thru.

Just because the schools don't have a P5 designation doesn't mean anything. Kiffin went to FAU from Alabama. Position coaches also do this because some of those positions may pay more or offer more responsibility. Occasionally it might reflect on a program but that is rare.

Jumping ship. We should stayed in the big east if this was the level of commitment we were going to get.

No not saying that. Had to jump at Big12 offer. No choice but to head to Big12. I just hope Big12 implodes so WVU ends up in ACC. That is where this is all going unless Texas and Oklahoma commit to Big12 with long term GOR agreement.

Kiffen bailed out from Bama because he was gonna get replaced by a drunk. Wasn't that obvious to you? Bama situation has absolutely nothing in common a WVU coach leaving for a non P5 job. My guess is he wanted to get back to Florida if true.

There is no guarantee that WVU would end up in the ACC.
