Braun is the better coach. Rhule is the better figurehead/spokesperson.

I have not seen Braun really do interviews but I get the feeling that he just cares about football and not podcasts and videos.
The PR rhule is doing is good for the program. Gets attention and good for recruiting, nil, etc. He just needs to get it done on the field. His teams rarely cover the spread, regularly get pushed around, and certainly don't ever upset a better team. Needs to get to 8 wins.

Sadly, as we have seen over and over with Husker fans...his "PR" while I agree is only positive, will turn into his "drinking" and his "******* coeds" and his "golfing" and his "road rage" and his "getting kicked out of middle school basketball games" and on and on and on.

Wait...was he there

1. Drinking
2. Hitting on coeds
3. Playing Golden Tee
4. Heading to the basement to threaten a booster
I don’t think it was golden tee, I think they said it was he was using the golf simulator too much. Also he destroyed Lincoln country club. They must have fixed it fast because there wasn’t a single picture

What we fail to recognize is that our stadium, NIL, and high profile coach are largely designed to sell tickets. I’m beginning to believe they’re counterproductive to producing good football.
Dingle it can be. This is what I call the old Red Sox and Cubs business model in the 90s & 80s. Admins focus is on generating revenue, not winning football. They do everything to to make money except focus on the product.

Most programs have to win to make money. We don’t. Winnings doesn’t matter to the powers. Hell it might even hurt it

I’ve come to slowly accept that. It’s a business that produces an entertainment product that fans ultimately consume no matter the results of the team.

Are there other examples of coaches that love themselves publicly as much as Rhule that win big? Seems to me the mentality of the coaches that win are the opposite of Rhule. They seem uncomfortable/annoyed with media and extra curricula's.

I’ve likened Rhule to a poor man’s Brian Kelly based on the cringe viral recruiting videos at LSU.

They get annoyed with it when the media is no longer on their side.

So pretty much like everyone else.

They are celebrities but they did not want to be.

Where are the recruits then? He had the opportunity to retool the defensive and offensive lines last year and did almost nothing...for me personally he has always come off as slimy and self-serving, disingenuous, but maybe this is why I stopped going to my evangelical church...the actions didn't match the words.

This comparison is ridiculous. You couldn't have picked 2 more opposite public personalities.
I absolutely could. It’s not a perfect comparison but it’s there. I guess I’ll ask in the form of a question for conversation purposes. Is there a coach that wins at a high level doing the things that Rhule does with the media and on social media?

Brian Kelly is universally hated by most everyone and is horrible at PR. Rhule is at least good at PR and likeable.

Lane Kiffin talks a lot and does a lot of trolling on social media.

I’m laying a lot of blame at Dana’s feet for last week. His game plan and play calling sucked.
I haven't dogged Dana, but what you say about last week is hard to argue with. Running the ball on 13 of 16 first downs, then only a total of 3 more times on 2nd, 3rd and 4th down. I mean, how predictable can you get?

Dane Key shutout 2 of the last 3 weeks, Jacori only 2-3-1 receptions in the last 3 games?

With this team, being small at RB, and not dominant on the line, you have to run only when you have an advantage, otherwise it is blown up, and you waste a down that EJ can run on. Remember he is our only back, so when he is tired we can't run the ball. Minnesota never gave us an advantage in the run game. They did allow us to throw deep and try to beat them deep, and it just didn't work. If we played our best, that might have been a game where we get a couple of TDs on long passes and have been in the game late, but we missed those opportunities.

I haven't looked back but was he like this at Temple and Baylor? Seems something he developed? Perhaps the fan worship has generated a Narcissism in him?
