I believe the Danville Register & Bee has stopped covering high school baseball and softball.

It went downhill when Damien Sordelett was moved to Lynchburg. He did a great job for the county, real shame how bad it I still now.

Danville, Lynchburg, Richmond and Roanoke papers are now owned by same company I believe. Yet Roanoke Times is by far better than the others, when it comes to sports.

Register and Bee officially went to all free lance writers for sports, I would expect local coverage to basically be dead unfortunately....

I recall the day when coaches would call their game results into the Danville and Lynchburg papers. This was before cellphones. There is no excuse for game results not to be called in.
