Seems too obvious but probably has ties to Moos. Scott Frost knows him well while at Oregon. Nebraska native, who knows, maybe looking to come home.

He’s got the full support of Nike, in which his job is a lot easier with the swoosh. He’s not going anywhere.

But, but we have those great facilities and great fan support. We have all that B1G money and PBA, all we have to do is open the checkbook and we can have any coach we want. They will knock down women and children to run here for the opportunity to coach at Nebraska.

Now I am being facetious, but there are some out there and on this site who think that the only thing holding us back is that we have been cheap in paying our coaches. As if Nebraska's HC position is some kind of dream job. I admit that they have been cheap on the salary, but that isn't the one and only reason we haven't been successful.

NU has over the past 30 years and 4 coaches been a career killer. It appears it may end up being the same for Miles. The only guys who would take this job are either washed up old guys wanting one last payday OR young hungry guys wanting their first big pay day. There's enough money out there that I don't think NU can pay enough to lure a successful coach away from another big time job with just money. IMO, the guy we would have to get to replace Miles would have to be another young up and comer. In other words, roll the dice again.

How about Dennis Rodman. Maybe he could teach our guys how to rebound! Winking

While many of us have mentioned names, bantered about ideas, it's safe to agree. Most of us believe, Miles has had enough time. It's time for him to go at the end of the season.

I don't like the thought of rolling the dice, but I agree. The odds of us getting any well established coach is going to be tough, no matter the money. If we do happen to get lucky on an up and coming young coach. He will jump ship the second a better bball school comes calling. Nebraska basketball is never going to be like the top schools. We as fans just have to accept that.

I don't necessarily buy the premise that a guy would absolutely jump ship after having success at NU. It depends on the guy and his background. IF he comes from a small school the odds of losing him to his alma mater are low. IF somebody wins at NU, they'll get PAID and get lots of love. Lincoln is a very nice small city that is a very attractive place for a coach and his family.

I get what @husker2612 is saying, I worry if we hire a young coach who has success, that he will jump ship at the first big offer. Although, I have always felt if we hire the right young, up and coming coach who has success here and realizes, if he stays here he will go down as the legend who started it all. Like Devaney did with the football program, here's to hoping Moos can find that guy. GBR!

All options should be on the table. The current state of the program is not at all what leadership had in mind when pouring money into basketball facilities 10 years ago. We are getting almost identical results - tiresome mediocrity with the occasional leap onto the NCAA Tournament bubble.

I know it’s difficult being a successful college basketball program, but geezus, it’s not as hard as Nebraska makes it look.

Moos' relationship with any coach may not matter. He might not be around to make the next hire.

Is Moos going to be gone by April? Miles is gone if this team doesn’t make the NCAA tournament, and NU is playing their way out of the field at a staggering pace.
Depends on the truth to the rumors about his inability to put the bottle down around boosters and donors.
