Wish him the best, but could easily see him slipping out of the draft after scouts get a closer look at him in workouts.

Good luck, maybe the spurs will take him & continue his development. They seem to be good with big men.

I find it interesting that he would be the first to declare.

I personally think because Calipari wants Zimmerman and now he can go full attack mode. Zimmerman was waiting on Dakari (he knew Towns and Willie was gone)

I agree with this. He did nothing this year to indicate he can play in the NBA. I guess he can play overseas but he can't shoot, can't jump, and hasn't shown anything to make you think he can compete at the next level. I don't understand this if it does in fact happen.

LOL. What did he do to be drafted? Can't jump, can't rebound, can't play defense, can't move ... hell I may declare for the draft as well.

Sad state of affairs when 6 points a game off the bench gets you a ticket to the league ... D league

I'll never understand why our fans would bash a player for leaving after insinuating they don't think they are good enough to play here...

I hate the way our fans turn on our own and get really critical of our players when they do what they (the fans) don't want. If this is true, good luck Dakari and thanks for what you've done. Especially getting us to the final game last year while Willie was hurt.

If it was deleted, I wonder why Chris Fisher would post this then?

If they are listing the agents, there has to be some legs to it. Probably taken down because Dakari wanted to announce it and not put out on twitter. Probably a family member leaked it

Willie averaged 7 points and 7 rebounds in the tournament, that's stellar!!

Not a valid source.
I have to agree. If you look at the time of the tweets (he also tweeted about WCS), he sent those out literally right after UK lost to Wisconsin. This guy doesn't know what he's talking about. I don't know anything about 247 Sports, but the fact that they're citing a guy like this tells me all I need to know about the quality of that site.

Lets all hope this isn't true, Dakari will be a force next year. If he has a year like Willie had, that preseason #1 looks legit!

I thought he had not made a decision yet ? I'll wait until I hear it from him to believe it.

Amazing a guy can come off the bench, barely produce, get blocked by 6"5 guys constantly, travel with ball and they think they can play with men and pros - best of luck with that Dakari, hope you know what you're doing.

I'd be surprised if he's even drafted. He showed practically nothing all year.

Original tweet was on the 4th but Dave Baker just retweeted it. Cal also changed his earlier prediction 5 to 7 leaving to 6 to 7 leaving tonight. I think Dakari has to be the 6th with Booker being the 7th who is still on the fence. Matt Jones also just tweeted that he now thinks Booker will declare. Not sure what he is going on but he has good sources.

Looks like Poy, Ulis, Lee, Willis, Hawkins and Floreal will be all that returns.

Dakari played 16.3 minutes a game and averaged 6.4 points a game for a production of .39 points per minute. WCS played 26 minutes a game and averaged 8.9 points a game for a production of 3.4 points per minute. Willie is more athletic and more mobile but avoids contact while Dakari is a work horse and not afraid to mix it up under the basket. IMO Dakari and Willie are about on the same level in the eyes of the NBA. I think this has been pointed out to Dakari and he feels it is time to sell his stock.

A-hole just wish him well.

He had a large role in our run last year. He had a sophomore slump
No reason he can't have the success similar to Nazr with hard work.

Whether he declares or not, we do not need to attack our own. He is a great kid that has done a lot for this program. DJ will improve drastically once he gets into the league. Just look at the transformation he made from his freshmen season till now. He has become a force down low. Not always consistent or explosive but he has niche that he fills quite well. Once he gets into a NBA weight room and spend more than 20 hours a week practicing he will make huge strides. He will never jump out of the building, but NBA coaches can help him transform his technique to use his strengths to overcome his weaknesses. We know he has the work ethic, just look at his free throw shooting and his body transformation from this past season.

For the long haul (life after Basketball) it would be better for him to come back and get his degree. But I don't think another year in college is going to help his basketball career. He needs to get to the next level before he really can make those needed adjustments to his game. I wish him nothing but the best no matter his decision.

We are about to open up a ton of room.

Lets go cal, make the adjustments necessary and lets bring in a crop that can defend, SCORE, and hang number 9

Johnson and WCS are not on tbe same level in scouts eyes. That is an idiotic take. One is 7 foot with elite athleticism and can guard 4 different positions. The other is just 7 feet. Not even close to being the same.
