Hard pressed to think of another more emotional Senior recognition ceremony than Dak's. Perhaps some of the posthumous ones like for Nick Bell, Keffer McGee, and Rodney Stowers.

But Dak has done so much for the exposure of MSU and the success of MSU---there really is no comparison and no other player who has benefited MSU more.

we should do something special for Dak. Did anyone see Beamer's last game on Saturday? It was really cool how the crowd yelled "thank you"/ "Beamer" back and forth across the stadium.

It would be really easy for MSU cheerleaders to do "thank you"/"dak" instead of "maroon"/"white" cheer.

Yea that would be a nice gesture. Gotta figure something like this will happen, especially if we are ahead/win the game.

Please don't do anything different until the game is over. Don't distract him from winning.

We should hire a chainsaw carver to make a statue of him pointing to the sky. **

Anyone think we should retire his number? I'm undecided. His performance is undeniable, but the lack of any major trophies makes his value to the program less tangible. Maybe rename it PREScott Field?

Hahaha. Perfect.

In all seriousness, I really hate the way these Senior Day tributes usually play out. They start off with the scrubs, and there may be some scattered applause. Then you get to the starters and it picks up a little bit. Then there are one or two guys at the end who the crowd goes wild for. It's got to really suck being one of those other guys. All of them put in a ton of work over the course of four years.

Just say no to retiring numbers. We have a Ring of Honor. That's where we need to honor him.

I believe it was 1999 or 2000 at Georgia Tech

At halftime their band was in the formation of Joe Hamilton's number as they walked off the field. Whichever year it was, they had the #1 offense in the country and he was the best player in school history up to that point.

The Ring of Honor is a given. The question is whether Dak deserves recognition beyond what any other football player has received. The cool thing about retiring the number is the school can continue to sell "15" jerseys for years without worry about being accused of trading on a current player's likeness.

I don't know about State, but I know for UGA this year you can only buy jerseys with the numbers 1 (for "We're No. 1!"), 15 (for the current calendar year) or 34 (for Herschel, who's number was retired).
