That was my thought too.DA is Derek Anderson.
Yeah but MJ is Matt Jones.DA is Derek Anderson.
Cal himself has said Allen doesn’t have to just knock down shots. Th air ball didn’t get him pulled. It was the lack of guarding and stepping out of bounds all in three minutes last night. Just was not a good game for Allen yesterday.Allen is always put in a very bad position. It’s difficult to be put in the game and every time expected to immediately knock down perimeter shots. He, like every player, needs to be given the opportunity to break a sweat and get into the flow of the game.
Agree.Allen is always put in a very bad position. It’s difficult to be put in the game and every time expected to immediately knock down perimeter shots. He, like every player, needs to be given the opportunity to break a sweat and get into the flow of the game.
Stop. I want to see Dontaie succeed more than anyone but the fact is he is athletically limited. When he’s not knocking down shots, he’s a liability. That is just a sad fact.Allen is always put in a very bad position. It’s difficult to be put in the game and every time expected to immediately knock down perimeter shots. He, like every player, needs to be given the opportunity to break a sweat and get into the flow of the game.
That doesn’t change what I posted in any way. It’s difficult for any player to be put in a game and immediately be expected to knock down threes. That shouldn’t be difficult to understand, and I’m not one of the posters pushing for more time for Allen. I’m just posting rationally. I don’t care who gets minutes.Stop. I want to see Dontaie succeed more than anyone but the fact is he is athletically limited. When he’s not knocking down shots, he’s a liability. That is just a sad fact.
He solve the rhythm and timing issue by inserting a natural basketball move ahead of the shot. For example, some players jab step then shoot, or some fake and sidestep dribble into the shot.Allen is always put in a very bad position. It’s difficult to be put in the game and every time expected to immediately knock down perimeter shots. He, like every player, needs to be given the opportunity to break a sweat and get into the flow of the game.
No, it wasn’t a good game for him, but how much floor time did he get after that 3 minute or so stretch? Wheeler had a subpar game as well, but he sure gotta lot more than a few minutes. Again, I’m not an Allen homer. I’m just pointing out the inconsistencies when it comes to his playing time.Cal himself has said Allen doesn’t have to just knock down shots. Th air ball didn’t get him pulled. It was the lack of guarding and stepping out of bounds all in three minutes last night. Just was not a good game for Allen yesterday.
True. We had a lot of players constantly getting beat on defense last night.Cal pulls him quicker than any player and this has something to do with his play. Saw players get beat on defense last night and still played. You just can't argue with that.

Has nothing to do with his playCal pulls him quicker than any player and this has something to do with his play. Saw players get beat on defense last night and still played. You just can't argue with that.
OK, what’s that got to do with what I said?Allen isn't a PG. TyTy is the backup PG so if Wheeler needs a break TyTy will play for him.
What has it do with ?Has nothing to do with his play
I'm an old man and can hit about 7 of every 10 three pointers when nobody is guarding me and I don't have to chase down my own ball.Been to several games this year and have gotten there early....watched DA come out early last night and he made 13 threes in a row and 16 of 19.....He shoots like this every time I get there early
Then in the game.....![]()
Nope! There was a nice little Allen sucks thread you missed.I thought this was about Derek Anderson.
I was actually proud of the board last night as I didn't see a thread about Allen. Sadly this place just cannot resist itself.
I can too, unless I have to run the floor one time, then I'm done,I'm an old man and can hit about 7 of every 10 three pointers when nobody is guarding me and I don't have to chase down my own ball.
Thought it was about DA as well.DA is Derek Anderson.
But if he doesn’t shoot it, he’s coming out! (Cal)Allen is always put in a very bad position. It’s difficult to be put in the game and every time expected to immediately knock down perimeter shots. I've also seen Allen in pre-games usually looking like the best pure shooter on the team. But not in that North Florida game. He couldn't hit anything in the pregame warm-ups (although quite a few were blocked by the basketballs of other shooters). I commented on it to the person I was at the game with, and since then he has continued to be in a funk. It happens to great shooters, and he'll come out of it. But I think Allen is in a real slump right now.Been to several games this year and have gotten there early....watched DA come out early last night and he made 13 threes in a row and 16 of 19.....He shoots like this every time I get there early

You are going to have less margin for error when you don't bring as much to the table. I agree Sahvir played what looked like maybe his worst game of the year, but you're going to have more leash when you're able to help the team in more ways than just shooting. It makes sense to have your better players on the floor. No, it wasn’t a good game for him, but how much floor time did he get after that 3 minute or so stretch? Wheeler had a subpar game as well, but he sure gotta lot more than a few minutes. Again, I’m not an Allen homer. I’m just pointing out the inconsistencies when it comes to his playing time.
Dontaie is on the team because he’s from Kentucky. If he wasn’t a local kid, Cal would never have recruited him.Cal pulls him quicker than any player and this has something to do with his play. Saw players get beat on defense last night and still played. You just can't argue with that.
You are right, as the coach Cal does pick who gets the most run. They are called the best basketball players on the team. Unfortunately for Allen, he's not one of them at this point. All the guys aren’t given the same opportunity PERIOD
Same with Willis, same with Mulder, and others. 3 minutes isn’t much of a chance. Not sure Id agree with the “too many players in front of him” theory. I mean, look at the damn score. Should win the game by 50. Some players play with a 50 feet leash while some play with a choker collar. FACT. Cal picks who he wants to get the most run and goes with it. I’d like to see Dontaie get 25-30 minutes a couple games and I’ll bet his stats would equal those who get the minutes now. He did last year as Cal got exposed.
By 50? Oh. You’re one of THOSE UK fans. All the guys aren’t given the same opportunity PERIOD

Go read the play-by-play for both the North Florida and Central Michigan games. He was shooting like crap but Cal left him in both games because he was doing other things well. Played a total of 19 min each game.Allen is always put in a very bad position. It’s difficult to be put in the game and every time expected to immediately knock down perimeter shots. He, like every player, needs to be given the opportunity to break a sweat and get into the flow of the game.
