Better take on some tough scrimmages. While Shelby is always an unpredictable rivalry game, feasting on cupcakes won't help in the late rounds of the playoffs. One or two potentially challenging games in conference, a 0 or 1 loss record in the season, the kids read their press clippings and think they are better than they are. Won't be battle tested when things do get tough. The potential of a good butt kicking or even a loss will teach you more about the weaknesses and mindset of a team than a 60-0 win. Just ask Havelock. Would you rather get knocked out in the quarters or semis with an undefeated record or hold up the trophy in the end? Always fun to poke an established program with a successful history but for Crest, "be not afraid."

Crest ain't scared, or at least they shouldn't be. TCR has had decent seasons, once they were undefeated in the early 2000's and ran into Crest but Crest just always wins and its a long way up that mountain just to give a *** whooping to a baseball school. The blind squirrel did find a nut though back in 2012 on a last minute play, but I'd still rather have ACR or a Catholic on the schedule.

Glad to see Freedom back on the schedule. Was a good conference rilvary game back in the day. Shelby and Burns will be tough. Adding South Point back to the Big South only makes a pretty good football conference that much tougher. Cramer will be a solid team this year with the QB back. Gotta believe Huss will bounce back with the number of athletes. Looks like the final game of the year will be Kings Mountain again. The 5th place team in the Big South this year will be pretty good.

As far as scrimmages, heard Crest will take on Hibriten. Possible teams for the Cleveland County Jambo are Catholic, Asheville, AC Reynolds, and Newton Conover. Not sure who would play who.

Kids have gotten their summer workout schedule. New season will be here before you know it.

The same 2 or 3 plays to 2 people, a cloud of dust and a 1st or 2nd round exit. That's as good your eastern style coaching will get you with all that talent. Called it 2 seasons in a row now. Going for 3.

Hope Burns gets Asheville or preferably Newton-Conover in the jamboree, either would be the de facto return game we missed out on because of COVID.
